Question: Would you please tell me your opinions on Alain de Botton's "The Consolations of Philosophy"!?

This man wrote a book in the year 2000 alluding to the notion that philosophy retains mans sanity whilst awaiting execution!. It is a rather feeble attempt at what I have learnt in that if the fates are against you, all the universal wisdom isn’t the world will not avail thee!.

He seeks to devalue and denigrate philosophy from his own circumstantial point of view and situation!. It is as with most modern books particle metaphysics, being a stepping stone on the path of Philosophy to the banks of wisdom!.

Most modern day books are written by such individuals who chance upon a drop of dew from the ocean or fountain of wisdom and profess to have gained the universe thereby!.
