Question: What is "Freedom"!? (As it is dictated by philosophy)!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
In reality we can do anything physically possible!. Law is just a way of controlling reality!. People should be able to do anything on the grounds that, they can!. Life is all about what you can and can't do!. And true freedom is doing anything because you can!. Only ask yourself, "Should I!?"!.

This is freedom without limitations, freedom as it existed since the beginning of time, how I see freedom!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It has different meanings in different fields!.

Metaphysically speaking, having "freedom" means possessing free will, presumably being able to choose your ends!.

In political philosophy, "freedom" can have several meanings!. Traditionally it has been broken down in to at least "positive freedom" (the freedom to have things, such as food and medical care)and "negative freedom" (the freedom from things, like imprisonment, censorship, interference), but some political philosophers have challenged that distinction and others have proposed even further categories!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

freedom like many other things is subjective, and what it is, can depend on the person, circumstances, situation, scenario, context etc

When talking about free and democratic values, what would be the fundamental and core components!. Now if you compare that with 'Patriot act' and 'FISA', can it still be called freedom!.

How would we decide what freedom is, and what criteria to use!. Should schools have rules and regulations, even if they are not mandatory by law!. How about at work, how would you correlate your rights with freedom!. Freedom of expression or free speech is virtually subjective!. So how would we decide what is allowed and what isn't!.

Literally there are people who think they should be free to smoke dope!. So are they!? Where would we draw the line!. Who decides what is freedom and what isn't!. Should schools be allowed to teach creationism in science!? What about biblical laws, what about abortion, homosexuality!. The views directly clash between somebody who is a secular and somebody who is very religious, at least in a lot cases!.

So what constitutes freedom is by no means uniform, however we as a society either with agreement and conjunction, or without have certain limitations imposed!. The boundaries of freedom are set so at least the views of the majority can be incorporated, well theoretically anyway!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Freedom, to me, is the ability to do whatever you want whenever you want, but only as long as it only applies to you!. Every human has the freedom to exercise their human rights, but that is so long as they do not infringe on any other persons human rights!. But there are many things that prohibit us from experiencing true freedom, our government is the first that comes to mind for everyone, but our fears are the greatest controller in our lives!. Fear keeps us from being free to wear, say, write, think, or do whatever we want because we fear the consequences!. The consequences that either come from our friends, our family, our society, many things!. The greatest fear for most is death!. However, think of life without any fears and convictions!. How free would you be if you did not fear the rejection of others!? How free would you be if you did not fear the severity of the consequences of law!? Imagine how free you would be if you did not even fear death!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

But in another point of view, in social issues, your freedom ends when the others freedom starts!.
So, I reckon it doesn't really exists!.
Yet, you have freedom of though, I guess we are only free in our mind!. Yes, that's the reall thing, we are only free in our mind!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would consider freedom to be the ability to live happily and think openly without fear of death or persecution by those in positions of authority!. But the complete embodiment of freedom cannot be penned or spoken aloud; it must be lived!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Freedom is a word that is meaningless all by itself!. To be free, one must be free from something: free to do something (free from whatever would keep one from doing something), or free to have something (free from whatever would keep one from having something)!. Www@QuestionHome@Com
