Only the other night my 5 year old son told me he sees ghosts walk past his bedroom door!. He was afraid!. I said 'really, where are they going!?'!. He didn't know!. He said sometimes they come in his room!. I told him that I didn't know much about ghosts but I do know the ones in Harry Potter are just the scariest ghosts that the author could think of, and that they were not real!. I told him that I knew 2 things about ghosts 1!. That they don't like candle light, would he like me to light a candle!? (yes, please mummy !.!.!. quick thinking on my part) and 2!. That they are not out to harm him!. He seemed pretty happy with that!. My son often looks past things in a room and follows things that aren't there with his eyes!. I guess it's because I am convinced that once your heart and brain die, and begin to rot!.!.!.there is nothing left!. Some sort of essence!.!.or!.!.!.soul would need to be left behind for a ghost to exist!. I believe a soul is merely a chain of chemical reactions, hormones, learned behavior, and instincts found in our body and brain!. It is true, we still have a lot to learn about how our mind works, but not knowing all of our body's tricks is entirely different from people attributing our behaviors to an ever lingering spirit or soul!. Ghost are but an entity to place our fears, giving both comfort and unease!. They embody the unknown!.!.!.and the unknown is scary!. Death!.!.!.an inevitable end for all you mortals, is the biggest unknown for humanity!. Such fear would cause the brain to seek some reassurance in the form of a fabricated all knowing being!. That live must continue after death!.!.!.and that there is one who Knows all!. There is alot humans no nothing about, natural unknown occurances must be ghosts, a light, the brain makes it a face and a ghost is born!. But I do not believe in ghosts (aka: spirit of dead people walkin and talkin) what I do believe in is Satan and Demons and they walk the earth or rather Stalk the earth!. so the things you see or hear, might be them!. but not dead people!. thats my personal belief!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Not at all!. There are far too many problems with the 'theory' of ghosts!. It is understandable why primitive cultures developed these beliefs and how they become part of culture and folklore!.
