Suffering is how we learn and appreciate life!. If we never suffered, if everything was easy, we would, ironically, most likely be constantly miserable!. Nothing would change, because nothing would HAVE to change!. Humans need change!. We crave novel experiences!. Otherwise we would just give up and kill ourselves because we wouldn't have hope as there would be nothing we would need to hope for!.
Even hypothetically, a world without suffering can't exist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Life is an energy machine that tries to replicate itself!.
Nature is the competition between these machines!.

And as with any competition, someone's going to lose & losing hurts!.

It's ying-yang!. There is no life without suffering!. For every meal you've eaten something had to die!. If you are not suffering from disease, it's because your body killed all those innocent little lifeforms just looking for a meal!.

The best you can do is try to minimize the suffering of your own people!. But this often entails increasing the suffering of others!.

American advances in Agriculture, Technology & Medicine have vastly decreased the 'suffering' in America, and indeed the world, but that did come at expense of the Native Indians, who JFTR were happily inflicting suffering on each other long before the Europeans arrived!.

Understand!? The point of the life game is not to minimize suffering!.

The point is victory!. The point is to minimize YOUR suffering & the suffering of those willing to help you minimize YOUR suffering!.

Because there are waves!.!.!.!. oh, you meant suffering!!.!.!. Well, obviously because they cannot surf!. Maybe they are not close enough to the ocean!.

Seriously, suffering is a terrible problem and difficult to sort out whose responsibility it is for its causes!. Could the Jews have had the foresight to moved to Palestine or the USA to avoid the holocaust neglects the prejudices of many Europeans (being Anti-Semitic was not just a German issue)!.

Part of the problem with suffering is the lack of foresight people have in solving their own problems however!. Blaming others doesn't really solve any problems!. Everyone is part of the problem and the solution!.

It happens because we are humans and not perfect and never will be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

hehehehe That's a stupid question!. You mispelled alive by the way!. Maybe people like eating themselves, Emos do that and they don't ask questions, people like you are the cause of Global Warming, soldiers dying cause people like you complain to much, kids are trying to lose weight and over do it, YOU don't wash your hands, your watching to much t!.v, and people freeze themselves cause they want to see the future and they knew global warming would melt themselves in order to do that!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.sorry i'm on meds!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'll answer this as philosophically as possible!. Quite frankly, this question can't honestly be answered!. To you, maybe burning someone alive is immoral!. However, morals are relative to different cultures and don't really exist!. Who are you to say if suffering is bad!? You make it sound as if it's a terrible thing but really, that's just you've been taught to think!. So I don't know why there's suffering, but I do know that what you think of it is irrelevent to the bigger picture!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Suffering arises from attachment!. Nothing is permanent, everything changes, so being attached will ultimately lead to suffering!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Most of the examples you gave involve human to human violence!. So maybe you are asking why do people treat each other so horribly!? Or are you asking about all suffering since there is quite a bit of suffering caused by nature and by other living beings besides humans as well!. Maybe you need to clarify that in your own mind!.

Human violence against each other and to other living beings is due to one thing only -- ignorance!. And the specific bit of information that is lacking is the most important of all!. Who we are!. Most, like 99!.9% or more, don't have any idea what their real identity is!. We are born into a particular family naked and innocent and right from the start we are indoctrinated to believe that the body that we have is our real identity!. We are made to believe that we are a certain race, certain ethnicity, certain nationality, we are such & such religion, color, gender, etc!. etc!.

In reality all of these designations are associated with the body and mind only and do not pertain to the soul within the body, our real identity!. We take birth in a body, that body grows for some time, maybe produces children and then gradually diminishes and dies!. Unfortunately, few inquire who is that person who has come into that body at birth and leaves the body at death!.

Self-realization or complete understanding of our eternal identity as spirit soul removes the ignorance that hides our identity behind all the temporary bodily designations!. In that knowledge people do not commit violence against any living being, what to speak of another human being!. A self-realized person is free from lust, greed and anger and has no material desire to fulfill or anything to gain!. In that consciousness we understand that any pain caused will be paid back in a future life!. There is a complete understanding of the laws of the Supreme -- karma!.
