If anybody can REALLY answer that one, I'll drop at his/her feet ! I don't know but I wonder, how can ALL the dead be crowding around you, following you around everywhere, nosing around ALL the time !?!? For God's sake, is there enough space for all of them, zillions upon zillions !! Even if they were, then who would be looking at all the other living ones !?!? And hey, don't they have anything better to do !? That's assuming that they are still around after having kicked the bucket!. Seriously fellas, let's not worry about the dead too much!. After all, we are going to join them one day!. But I somehow believe that our dead relatives will be around us for quite some time before they can proceed with their journey!. I believe that when we die with a lot of attachment to worldly affairs, such as our children and our wealth, as opposed to attachment to God (or whatever you wish to call Him/Her) then our souls will not be able to break away from the world and will linger on untill such time as some other kind souls help them to move on or they may be born again!. That's why they say when you attach yourself (your consciousness) to the world (material, temporal nature) then suffering follows, but when you attach yourself to the divine (spiritual, indestructible nature) then happiness follows!. No man, even the dead people that are here are clueless!. They hang around places they liked to hang out when they were alive, moving furniture around and s**t!.
