For one individual, I focused on learning about the guy's life, frustrations, challenges, etc to have a better handle on how he felt!. Once I was able to see him as a complete person, I paid much less attention to hair and physical features!. Having learned to accept one person as more than gender, it becomes easier to see more people that way!.
