I know everyone judges someone when they first meet them, whether you wish it not true or not!. The judging happens!. But how do you judge them!? I do not have thoughts in my head, such as, "well she has some issues" or "he is unattractive"!. I analyze to try and understand on a deeper level who is the person I am with!. I watch their body language, the subtle movements that state if they feel comfortable or uncomfortable!. I watch if they keep good eye contact or avoid direct and consistent eye contact!. I do look at their appearance, but again, not in a way to judge, put a perceptive way!. Are they dressed in business attire, casual!? What color clothing is he or she is wearing (it does state something about the person)!? I notice if they wear excessive jewelry or nothing!. I might glance at their hands and see if they bite their nails (could be nervous habit) or if their nails are clean and trim!. I listen to the sound of their voice!. Are they projecting and loud or very quiet as in a whisper!? Does he or she add emphasis to particular words or speak in a monotone voice!? If it is an open conversation than what subjects does the individual wish to talk about!? These are just a few of the things that I quickly go over in my head!. Www@QuestionHome@Com I think the answer to that is quite similar for everyone, since when you first meet someone, you unavoidably judge by what you first see or hear, which is the clothes, the way they talk and move, their expressions, etc!. For one I can say I am a horrible, absolutely horrible judge at first sight!.My intuition is non-existent and most of my first conclusions turn out to be terribly wrong!. I need to get to know someone before I judge them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com I try not to judge anyone without knowing the person for some time but in reality what happens is that we judge others by our own likes and dislikes!. If someone is dark or short, or speaks with accent and you don't like him/her that is because at the subconscious level you have certain likes and dislikes that you your self is not even aware of!. The funny thing is that because of our own dislike we fail to establish good relationship with the person and then we say something like: I didn't like the person at the first sight! Secondly, if you deem them safe/pleasant/your cup of tea!.!.!.then you initiate conversation-maybe nonverbal communication, but!.!.!.you are continually assessing and judging how close you want to be, how much time you want to spend!. Otherwise I get to know them first!.
