Question: Is it true that, however intelligent they might be!.!.!.!?
conversations carried on in the higher "stratospheres of the mind" are always myopic about what really goes on in the world!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

To a certain extent they must be (though I'm not sure "myopic" is the best term to use)!. They need to be focused on the issue being discussed!. It isn't that the academics themselves are necessarily myopic about what is really going on with the world, but they are able to discuss their topic without feeling compelled to tie it in with what's going on in the rest of the world (unless there's an inescapable connection)!. This is also true of other conversations which are carried on at levels other than the higher "stratospheres"!.
Example: We have been conversing for a while, yet this is certainly the first mention of Darfur in any of our Q & A!. That doesn't mean that we are unaware or unconcerned about what's going on there, only that the matters we have discussed do not necessitate its inclusion!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah!.!.because conversation, however intelligent it is (i would like to use term "concept") is not real before it is put into action (practice)!.
It is not to diminish the value of "intelligent" conversation' alone, but they both, conversations (concept) and actions (practice), must present together to make something 'real' and 'valuable', and to map things precisely!. if they detach that's what as you call it "myopic"Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes i do indeed agree that certain intelligent people can only talk about one subject for hours, but at the end of the day they all leave with their own theories and facts, and lacking true open mindedness, and ways to see the world, plus they have study,ed for years in this one subject,Someone could describe the ins and outs of a egg,but could they cook one prefectly!.lol Don`t get me wrong everyone is important on all levels of intelligence and commonsense!. The weird thing about many conversations between academics is that their topics often become the common topics between non-academics 15 to fity years later!.
Neuronal plasticity is a good example!. That was an academic subject 20 years ago, and now almost everyone who reads even newspapers, has heard of it!. Ramachandran's work with stump pain was a topic only among professors and graduate students 20 years ago and is now commonly known!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That kind of real conversation is carried on down to Earth levels!.
You can listen to the parent who can't pay their children education!.
You can listen to the wife who does not have social security!.
You can listen to the soldier who is fighting a war and doesnt really know the reason why!.!.!.!.!.

Academics etc!. are there to exchange admirations and prizes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, when you are focusing intently on the discussion of one particular subject or statement I can see how it might be difficult to keep the larger picture in mind, so you may just be right!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you may just be right!.!.!.!. but sometime we also do not know what we are doing!.!.!.!.who we are, then how can know what really goes on in the world!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
