Question: God is Love and Love is God, We are not aware of Divine Love, Why!?
Human beings love each other because of Ego and Selfishness!. None exhibits selfless love except Divine persons!. Why we are not able to practice the selfless love!. For example: Mother Terasa!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I actually disagree with you on two of your points!. What you call "divine" love, I call unconditional love and I beg to differ, but we are capable of that love in the here and now!. We are not separate from God in that respect!. Examples:

1) A person who loves another and lets them go to let them be happy, knowing all they want is to have that person around, that is unconditional love!.

2) As someone mentioned, the love of a mother for a child is probably the greatest, most pure love there is!. I don't think you can get more unconditional than that!.

The other point I disagree on you is that I do not believe there is such a thing as selfless love!. Nothing you can do for another is selfless because it is in giving kindness, love and compassion that you probably help yourself more than the other person!. Giving to another is the same thing as giving to yourself!. Both always feel good!.

So, I think the question you meant is "why are there not more people out there practicing unconditional love!?" And the answer to that is, I'm sure that is probably on their to-do list but getting rid of all the emotions, past traumas and the like that interfere with the purity of that love (guilt, shame, anger, etc!.) is not an easy task to do and for many it takes a lifetime and maybe beyond to learn!. But is it impossible!? Not at all!. Hope this helps!

I would highly disagree with your first statement about Ego and Selfishness!. I see where you're going with it, but I would *not* call it "love," rather care or obsession!. However, we can also use the infinite love God uses to love others, but be aware that it is not our own, for the simple fact we are not divine!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Simply not true - many mothers would sacrifice all for a child and there is no need to divide 'divine love from any other love!.
it is either love or it isnt!.

We find it hard because we are full of fear of each other with pretty good reason - we are the most dangerous animal in the zoo!.

I cannot see how you can cite Mother Theresa and say none of us exhibits selfless love!. You just disproved your own point -
Look around there are selfless acts going on all the time!.

is what you are saying that - you- are finding it hard to love!? If so - find the way!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Let me get this straight!.
God is a Nuero-chemical!?
Are you sure Mother Terasa was acting out of selflessness!?
Are you sure her motives were not personal maybe she enjoyed her work becuase she thought it was "gods will" maybe she wanted to be closer to the divine, and this is not selfish!?
God is not a nuero-chemical!.
We know what love is, the same can not be said about god!.

why are only devine persons selfless!? devine persons are acting in the will of god, and doing what they believe god preached as right in religious documentation!. correct!? however, acting in opposition to any of these beliefs is sinful, and god punishes those who have sinned!. so in actuality, a person following the will of god is doings so partly due to an element of fear of persecution for defying god!. this fear is not selfless at all!. it is partially a concern for one's own well being, and one follows god's laws partly to protect themselves from persecution!.

selfless love can be expressed by individuals, divine or not!. religion really has nothing to do with it!. i'm not discrediting acts of mother terasa, which could be interpreted as selfless, but saying that they were only selfless because she was considered "divine" is simply a falsity!.

your equating selflessness with piety, while it is more a matter of human nature!. morals and ethics deriving from religious teachings can come into play, but they are not requisites for a selfless act!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
