Good question!

It is not at all insulting for it just correct to place it in the correct category for the following reasons:

Philosophy is categorized under Arts and Humanities because the former is a set or system of rules and principles derived for procuring some scientific, aesthetic or a practical results!. It is also considered as an art because of its application of knowledge or natural ability to deal on reality and truth especially by human endeavour!.

On the other hand Religion is under the Society Section because it focuses on the community where people have interests on what they believe in or have faith in for their mutal benefit and protection!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

And so you would put hem in their "correct"sections!.

i go with Popper, who said that above all philosophy should be critical!.
And perhaps in a small way, what you ask is enlightening and critical!.
But philosophy or "philosophic types"or even "insulted"people you highlight, even all those together hardly outweigh the importance of practical actions, and practical "mistakes"!.
For mistakes made in our practical world, are our lifeline not only to a better world(and "better"people-for we should Learn to be better from our mistakes)but to a less insulting and better academic world/section!.
Not that these should be separate(and this is obviously where popper-ian criticism comes in);but that they are,are well documented by the aforementioned scholar!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I find many things about YA insulting!. They are down right bigoted!.!.!. and Im talking about the Admin, not just patrons!.

I like answering both philosophy and R&S!.!.!. and one thing I noticed is that if I post anything that is anti-theistic, blatantly insulting or not, it stays up long enough to appear in search engines!. I wouldnt be surprised if bigoted questions appear on Yahoos front page!. If, on the other hand, I post something that is anti-atheistic (and thus pro-theistic)!.!.!. but perfectly polite, and logical to the degree that atheists cannot argue the point!.!.!. then not only does my post get deleted, not only are appeals rejected, but I have lost three accounts due to suspension!.

And their excuse is usually "not a q or an a" or "forcing my views" and other such things!.!.!. pretty much any answer can fall under any one of the hundreds of violations they created on the fly!.!.!. and whether or not they wish to apply it for a given q or a is arbitrary!.

I have even had legit complaints and observations about yahoo deleted off the YA community forum!.!.!. because they dont want degrading truth getting out!.!.!. forcing them to actually labor to improve the place!.

Youre allowed to say anything!. But if its difficult to argue against, it better be consistent with the bigotries of those who have authority!. Truth, traditional conservative religious views, honesty, legitimate opinion, factual statistics!.!.!. are all placed on the back burner to any mainstream liberalism!.

If I ask "how do I change my gender on my birth certificate"!.!.!. a bunch of transsexuals eagerly inform me!. But if I ask "how do I change my date of birth on my birth certificate" suddenly Im an bigot degrading the transsexuals cause!. As though the questions werent the exact same thing - trying to "legally" change historical fact about physiological constants about the state you were born in - so that I can spend the rest of my life deceiving the people I pretend to care about so that, selfishly, they wont think less of me!. And the latter question gets deleted!.

No, Im not insulted that Philosophy appears in arts!.!.!. but until now I hadnt really thought of it before!.

Colleges give philosophy majors degrees in the arts!. So I see that connection!. But philosophy is as much about the pursuit of truth as religion or science!. And many dont appreciate that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Philosophy is an art that person practice and develop over time!.

Religion is one of societies herd mentality activities which usually arrives pre-packaged, one size fits all along with don't rock the boat!.!.!.

Philosophy means the love of knowledge and learning and most person clearly demonstrate that such is not one of their personal or favorite pursuits!.

Be well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not at all, it just shows the priorities of Yahoo!.

Philosophy IS part of the Arts and humanities section!. If you study Philosophy at university, as I did, you would get an Arts degree!.

Religion!.!.!. there is very little to separate between religion and culture, Religion has a very strong influence in how culture develops!. So I would have to agree with Yahoo here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Basically, Philosophy is an art!.It is daily happenings but not witnessed by every one like religion is!.
I too would see it OK for religion in the society section!.religion is used to streamline society mainly!.

Thanks for askingWww@QuestionHome@Com
