Because blind people drive all the time!. I see them when they cut me off and drive to slow!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Have you ever rode in the back seat of a car with a group of friends to a drive-through, say, at McDonlads!? Now, what if none of your friends wanted anything to eat, only you!. The driver was stopping you off at a place you wanted to go so you could "grab a quick bite" before you all headed down to the beach!. You friend pulls the back window, where you are sitting, to the drive-through order microphone!. You order!. The same concept can apply to those who are blind!. Someone could drive them to an ATM (like a husband or wife or other family member) and pull them up to them ATM!. I guess the only problem is how those blind people get their windows down!. Thank God for automatic window switches which can be controlled by the driver, too!. Most things today are created for convenience in many ways for many people!. Some business, banks, super-markets used to create side walks for those who could walk forgetting that there are people who can roll (in wheel chairs)!. Many renovations have been made, and most places that are built now (public places) are built with wheel chair ramps and handicap parking places!. Do we really know, though, that a handicap person will come to that place!? No!. Although, it may be likely we can't be sure!. We nevertheless provide the convenience because it's possible!. The same applies for those ATM's!. Maybe it's not likely that a lot of family members are going to drive their blind kinsmen, who is sitting in the back seat behind the driver, to the ATM when it's just easier for the person who can see to go for them instead!. However, they're made for the event that a blind person does need to go under specific circumstances!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because the association for the blind had lobbied congress to make more accessibly for blind and handicapped folks in the USA they are also talking about labeling paper money to prevent dishonest people from swindling blind people!.

And No your right if your blind you should not be driving but millions of seemingly blind folks drive everyday!!! lolWww@QuestionHome@Com

Cute question!. I hope I'm not taking it too seriously with this answer:

Because it's cheaper to make one kind of ATM face and use it in multiple places (drive-up, walk-up), than it is to make each type of ATM completely different!. Thus the manufacturer puts braile on all ATM faces, then puts the faces on various types of ATMs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because the ATMs that are placed outside to be used for drive up purposes are the same ATMs that they place inside buildings for people who are walking up to them!.

They don't make seperate ATMs for indoor and drive up use!.

because all of the keys for the atms are built at the same factory and it would not be cost effective to make two sets of number keys, 1 with braille and 1 without!. plus there is probably some law regarding the ada!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

lol I wondered the same thing!.!.

here's one!. in my local coffee shop, why is there brail on the door to the washroom, but no brail on the separate men's and ladies' rooms to distinguish between the two lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because all ATMs are made the same, some are just put in places where u walk up and other are put in drive ups!. but they are all the same!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

due to reproduction costs - atm's are generic and so it doen't matter where they are placedWww@QuestionHome@Com
