I don't think you have to crush it, as that would not be love - I think the task is to love yourself so that your ego becomes your servant not your master!. The ends don't justify the means!.

I think overbloated -ego is never necessary!.

Ghandi was not a laughing stock in his society!.

YOu seem to have an already defined assumption of the tasks of ego!.

Eric Bernes books but probably games people play is a good way of seeing how people like to come out 'top dog'
in social interactions - Bernes thoughts are that these ego games are a failed attempt at intimacy!. All the self status stuff masks an incapacity to love and be loved!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Ego, in a material sense, is the sense of an individual
person!.
2!. Each individual, in wordly affairs, needs to express their
individuality - to help shape the environment in which they
live and create their own life pattern!.
3!. In any spiritual path, not just Spiritualism, the aim is to
open oneself to spiritual service - not to express our own
individuality!.

I hope this helps!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
