To break it down since this question can be expansive, let's say someone asked you to help them for 3 months, but by helping them you would be compromising your value and beliefs in your own life!. I cannot give you a "context" in what it would be because each individual will view that concept in a different light, so base the concept/ action on your values and beliefs (whether religion, life's purpose, etc)!.

That is a very difficult question for me!. My religion states basically if someone needs help and you are able to help then help the person!.
