Question: If not god then what!? I find myself trying to figure out what the point of life is!?
I know its pointless but if not god then what!? I can't help thinking that I have this void in my life I mean me and my wife aren't perfect and I love my son but I'm smart enough to know I have it good!. So why the emptyness!. I am a atheist and I know some are gonna say that I need god in my life , but the thing they dont realize is I try but facts and common sense just tell me no!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm in the same boat, and I have no advice to offer!. I know if I could truly buy into religion that it would fill the "void", but I also know that trying to do so at this point would be fake!. I DON'T buy in, and so going through the motions wouldn't bring any value to my life!. At the same time, I also know I won't find an answer, and yet I cannot stop myself from pondering it!. It's frustrating at time, makes me a pretty depressed guy, but also when I step back, it's almost as though it's the world's greatest riddle!. To me, there is obviously SOMETHING else going on, some rhyme and reason to things, so we obviously don't have the full picture, and we have the capacity to analyze and think through much of it, so it certainly is a good way of killing time while here!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The thing about God is, it's all faith!.!.!. and there is no commons sense to faith- hence the statement a leap of faith! Perhaps God has been shown to you more as a religion!. The origon of religion goes back to "bondage" which so NOT what God wants for us!. He wants you to have a life of freedom and peace, and you get that in return for having faith in Him and believing!. Assuming you got married because you love your wife and had faith that ya'll would be together as life partners, put that in a paralell with God!. Good luck!. I have been where you are and I do empathize with you!. What has helped me is finding a nontraditional church- a nondeminational church!. They are able to relate the bible to TODAY and not use all the "thees, thous,etc"!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My brother said the only way is to look forward to things, even if they are ordinary and routine!. Look forward to the next half hour!. Look forward to cleaning out your cupboard!. Look forward to work!. Look forward to coming home!.

Do not get hung up with a lot of isms and ologies - atheism is an 'ism' too!. Let go of it and look forward to having a clear head!. Look forward to talking to your wife and hugging your son!.

Look forward to getting to work, look forward to coming back!.

Look forward to the weekend, and look forward to your next birthday!.

Look forward to stuff!. Dread nothing!.

Good luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The meaning of life is just that: TO LIVE! Live and let live!. Remember the song "Dusk in the wind" by Kansas:

"I close my eyes
Only for a moment, then the moment's gone"

Time is like a flowing river, it awaits nobody; close your eyes for a moment and that moment is gone!.!.!.forever!. Use the time that you have wisely!.

Live, because that is why you are alive!.!.!.

The meaning of life is simply to live!.!.!.

Cheers and
Good luck in your quest!.
