Question: How true is the truth!?

How can an average human being be fully certain about the truthfulness of the things that he hears and reads!?

We tend to believe the things that we consider as science and history!. We (or at least, many of us) tend to believe in our authorities -- in our teachers, doctors, scientists, etc!.

When we were told that vegetables are good for the health, we believe it!.

When we were told that we belong to the Milky Way Galaxy, we believe it!.

When we were told that matter is composed of atoms and molecules, we believe it!.

When we were told that the Earth is billions of years old, and that dinosaurs existed millions of years ago, we also believe it!.

But how sure are we that there is no worldwide conspiracy regarding the establishment of truth!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

We hold it as truth because the evidence is there, and it's good enough that any educated person can figure the proof out themselves!.

And what if there were a worldwide conspiracy!? What's the point in thinking or knowing about it if it has already established that much control already!? Nothing you can do about it, and you are living, might as well go with the flow!.

I've read enough about science and observed enough things firsthand to make up my own mind about those things!. For example, I believe what they say about dinosaurs because I can go to a museum and study the bones myself!. I've also read how people come up with the age of those bones, and it seems more reasonable than any other (biblical) explanation!.

I think the same think all the time!.

How do they know dog food is good for dogs!?
How do we know that all people don't see different colors, but they are just trained to say red or blue or white!?
How do we know we need 8 glasses of water per day!?
How do we know there is no such thing as vampires!?
How do we know there are other planets in our solar system!?
How do we know there are even other galaxies!?
How do we know the periodic table of the elements is complete!?

That's why I hate science class, because they have no hard proof of half the stuff!.
Like the center of the earth!?
Pshh, how do we know its not like, a giant disco down there!!?

It's the human mind trained to believe what we're told!.
But trust me, I think there is a conspiracy, somewhere!.

Truth is like math!. It's made up by humans from the idea of symmetry, but entirely relevant to the circumstances present, being that there is nothing to counteract the inevitability of its being correct!.

So in the end, I would suppose, truth is the absence of falsehood, based around fact, but fact, requires truth and it's evidence relevant the the circumstances at hand to rule it true!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think we tend to believe the theories that are most widely believed by other people
until a credible theory opposes any widely accepted theory people will chose to believe that accepted theory
i think laziness could also play a part in it, because after all I'm no scientist i could honestly care less if matter was composed of atoms and molecules or fairy dust and magic, and so i chose to believe the commonly accepted theoryWww@QuestionHome@Com

We might just believe what authorites tell us becuase, honestly, can we prove them wrong!? Then again no one has to believe anything, just go out an find out for themselvs if they really wanted to!. On the other hand the fact is we don't know!. People have there own lives to worry about!.

Well the thing is there is, to a very small degree!. You have to understand that not all things are questionable, we just have to go with what is commonly known!. When you think about what is scientific fact, they are all theories nothing is absolutely right, just like what make gravity happen, it's a theory ( I know the was not the best wording but it is just an example ) All I have to tell you is don't dwell on it, or trust me you will get to involved and the government will come after you, no I'm just kidding all I'm saying is it would be to hard to question everything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well we are part of a galaxy and we named it milkyway so yeah we are in the milkyway galaxy!.

veges are proven by many people even ourselves that they are good for us, we are omnivores and need to eat plants, fruits and meat *sometimes substitutes for the vegetarians* to keep healthy

we are all made of something we cannot see by the naked eye and the name they chose for it is atoms

and the bones were found of animals we call dinosaurs and there are many fossiles that were tested and show life lived on this planet billions of years ago or rocks show that, stuff like that!.

We can never really know!. We pass on the knowledge we have gained from others because we don't know any better and because it works to a certain degree!. They say that the average person knows only 1% and even much less of all knowledge!. The other consideration is that all the facts, figures and information of everything in the world, accumulated through the centuries cannot be proven to be 100% accurate!. There are still many theories about food, health, fitness, matter, black holes and dark energy,expanding Universe, etc but they keep changing!. So the absolute Truth of things is just non-existent!. But fortunately in some fields of knowledge, e!.g!. mathematics, geography, information technology, and nuclear science, there is a fair amount of accuracy and Truth, and this is largely possible by the use of time-tested equations and formulae!.

Whether a person believes something or not, depends on his level of education, his age, job, hobby and experiences in living!. The more you know, the more likely you will believe in something intimate to you!. Of course, there are still an unusual few who will believe just about anything said, due to pride and for fear of ridicule!.

For myself, if i think that something interesting or critical that has been said or reported is a bit ridiculous, i would pursue and research on it, to discover the truth!.
