Question: What is the next big change for humankind!?
We, as humans have changed from hunter-gatherers to a hulticultural society!. Then an agrarian society and on to the indistrial revolution!.

The current age may be percieved as the "age of technology"!.

Have we left the industrial revolution behind and this *is* the next great stage in humankind, or has the iceberg's tip only been spotted!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

From Kurzweil's point of view, we could claim that we are in the "information society" because it is not so much technology itself that is driving us but rather the flow of information (which technology aids)!.

If I were to act like a technological determinist, I think it would be clear that the next stage of human development will be the "information cyborg!." I say "information cyborg" and not simply "cyborg" because in many ways we already have "cyborgs!." They are not like in sci-fi films, but there are people with technology aiding them continually (e!.g!., the person with an artificial heart or the person with a mechanical arm)!. However, the next stage will come when humans integrate their communication technologies!. When information technologies and human bodies are fused into a "information cyborg," then we will be at the next stage!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

the next big step 4 humankind is that it is going to return back to the stoneage, the point where it started from!. How long do u think the fuel in the whole world is going to last with humankind sucking the blood of the earth each day, each hour, to make weapons , wars, trips 2 mars , 2 the moon!.!.!.!.
The next big step lies at the point when humankind realize that the most things they did, invented were deeply nothing!. far away from our nature, they destroy the real human nature, they discovered everything except their real nature and that is what should be done!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good question !

One of the major difference between mankind and other animal is its brain ability!.

So, the "change" for mankind is to use its specialty - the optimum brain usage than the body!. So, the trend from hunting to agriculture, from agriculture to industrial!. And the "age of technology" is just the extension of industrial age!. We started the "information age" already!. And we will stay in the information age with no change!. Unless, we develop other ability that's above our brain power in nature!.

Good day!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

We have left the industrial revolution behind and live in the information age!.

The industrial revolution was spawned partly by the rail road a method of moving goods and raw materials greater distances in shorter period of times!.

As we have reached a point where goods are largely plentiful and reasonably available all over the world!.

In the information age ist now about moving large quantities of info, media, and culture at the speed of fiberoptics!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The book the Celestine Prophecy tried to answer that and say there had to be a synthesis between the inadequacy of the physical or scientific means to self awareness and meaningful completeness in the spiritual awareness or birth of man!.

That could be true!. I think there is a more general change coming!.

It's unfortunate but I think before anything happens an equilibrium between man and nature; man and man; and man and God; must take place!. This dynamic could be cataclysmic but somehow planet earth and humanity will survive!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Funny you should mention icebergs!.!.!.global warming is melting them as we speak (or actually, write!.!.!.)

We will be a society with major fresh-water shortages due to environmental implosion!. We will ALL experience (industrialized and developing nations alike) a scarcity of resources as the earth struggles (and partially fails) to provide for an ever-increasing and ever-demanding human population!.

Then, in true Malthusian poetry, human numbers will begin to decline!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
