Sometimes people 'pretend' to forgive others in order to appear noble and great in the eyes of those who matter but go on feeding the resentment so as to get even with them at a later date!.

Most politicians/manipulators are adept at playing this game!.

Genuine forgiveness no!.!.!.if you truly forgive someone the error they made becomes non-existent, and your relationship with them should not change!. Granted, you'll still be MINDFUL of the mistake as no one is perfect and history can and does repeat itself, but their past mistake is no longer an issue to you!.

If you don't have compassion for their mistake, in essence you still have resent or mistrust in that person, which means you haven't forgiven that person, you've just prevented yourself from retaliating, and letting the issue go for the time being!.
