I understand, but what you have to also realize is that there ARE good people still in this world!. I'm pretty sure someone lies at least once in their lifetime!. Most people lie because they have a weakness!. Until you learn what their weakness is and help them overcome it, you can't trust them!. Think about this!.!.!.!. The bigger picture in this is that you grow stronger together and build a bond along the way!. That person will trust YOU and see that there really isn't a reason for them to lie to you!. Then that person WILL be trusted!.

Everyone lies!. It all comes down to how much and what they lie about!. If you know someone long enough, you will know these things!.
For instance, I would say 95% of the time, I tell the truth!. If I am asked a question I wasn't prepared to be asked, my response 9 out of 10 times will be truthful!.
I also have this habit of saying exactly what I am thinking, when I am thinking it!. That doesn't lend itself well to lying!. And I'm a bad liar and it's not something I want to practice getting better at, I don't think it's a good thing to do on a regular basis!.
I would say someone that constantly lies to you is someone that can't be trusted!. There are times when little white lies are needs!. Such as the dreaded "Does this (insert piece of clothings) make me look fat!?" etc!. So as long as the lies aren't meant to hurt you and the person has a good nature, I would say they could be trusted!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everyone does lie, even when we try not to, little "white lies" can happen at one point or another!. The thing is what is their "purpose" and "motivation" in not telling the truth!? If they have negative motivations, then those cannot be trusted!. If they are knowingly telling a lie for the purpose of harm then it is best to not trust them!.

On the other hand a "lie" can be opinionated!. For example say you ask someone to tell you what their new carpet looks like and they say brown with specks of blue, but upon looking at it, you see brown with flecks of grey-- who is to say they are not telling the truth when they see something different then you do!? Can they not be trusted because they told a lie, which they thought was truth!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not all of us are liars all the time and not all the lies have effect on you since most of them are said casually to impress on you! In many other cases, lies are so necessary to get one to escape from an unpleasant situation and as well not to embarrass the people concerned! Lies can't be taken seriously when you understand it and to forgive the liar makes more sense in bringing him / her, more truthful to you! Not everyone lies all the time!. You just have to learn how to know when someone is going to harm you!. I started a handyman business years ago & we did alot of work for a man who we didn't bill until we finished & he didn't want to pay!. I learned from him that I knew he couldn't be trusted!. He went to a spiritual center we went to where I trusted everyone!. He was one bad one in the crowd!. I can tell if someone is not going to be a good customer!. I have learned other ways to insure I am safe but my intuition has never led me in the wrong direction!. Ah well, one man's 'lie' is another man's 'truth' so where does it leave anyone!?

I would prefer to live by the rule of "Harm no one" as the basis for speech!. If you are going to be ruthlessly frank to your best friend and wound them by doing so, then I'd think twice about it!. Weigh it up and see what is of more value: your brutal honesty or their emotional stability - whatever the case may be!. I would opt for their emotional well-being when choosing a reply to them!.

Besides, WHAT IS JUSTICE WITHOUT MERCY!? So, in the end it is not sufficient to be always correct but far more meaningful to be caring for your fellow man's happiness!.

Remember, the Master pointed out to us about those who followed the "letter of the law" (correctness) and missed the "spirit of the law" (compassion), and so it should be for us!.
