Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Sadly I can think of 3-categories of reasons: 1) Sport!. 2) Projection!. 3) Self-Defense!. A) As to category #1, you have your serial-killers, and those sociopaths that seek power and control irregardless of who gets in their way!. B) As to category #2, you have people so occupied with self-hate, that once they recognize that hate in another, they try to kill that part of themselves, by killing that person that exists outside of themselves!. C) As to category #3, out of fear and protection of self and those involved in a violent-confrontation, kill the perpretrator that initiates violence that could end in a homicide(dead-body)!. D) Sadly some Elected-Officials, Authorities, and military personal have combinations of all 3!.!.!.!. the question then becomes what percentage of their intent behind such violence truly looks out for Our best-interest(self-defense), and more importantly, can we find a better method then killing and death to bring Our interest about!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com This reason is going to very from case to case!. If you are looking for general trends, I could offer jealousy, avarice, sadistic glee (!.!.!.shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die!.!.!.), political or military gain (those count as killing in my book), or even a mercy killing!. It's disturbing to acknowledge that we all have that potential within us!. Some are in denial about it-but most of us would kill in self defense! It's also disturbing to acknowledge that we all have the seeds of self destruction within us!. If you kill yourself you are still killing a human being!. It's difficult moral territory-homicide and suicide!. But Why!? Only the people involved on a case by case basis know for sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Many different reasons!. Some are psychos that belong behind bars, some are fighting for our countries freedom, some for revenge!.
