Question: Would you choose your mind or body!?
One day you are given a choice and you can only choose one side!. You are told to choose between keeping a healthy mind, or a healthy body!.

If you opt for the mind, your body will still function (breathing, heart beating, autonomous functions), but you will lose your ability to walk, run, lift your arm, talk (anything that does not work autonomously), but your mind will function to the greatest capacity and capability!. Your body would be stuck in a newborn state (unable to keep head up, move arm, etc)

If you opt for the body, you will be able to use your body to its fullest capabilities (run, walk, talk), but you would not have the fullest capability of the mind!. Your short-term and long-term memory would evaporate; you would not be able to think through simple and complex problems!. Your mind would be stuck in a newborn state (not knowing things are still there when not in your eye sight, etc)!.

Which would you choose and why!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Instead of looking at this as which would you rather be trapped inside, I'll answer this as which would I rather be FREE of: mind or body!?

Plato said our minds forget everything they "knew" from when they existed before being connected to our bodies!. As we age our minds remember everything they knew from before they were connected to us at birth!. This presupposes that minds live independently from the body!. If we accept this premise, then the choice is clear!.

I would be a mind, because my "mind's I" could live every possible, and not-possible, life imaginable (and even a life not-imaginable because the mind would be free from the senses and gravity)!.

Of course this begs the question: is a mind existing independent of a body really alive!?!.!.!.!.!.!.And on and and on we go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I would choose my body!.
why!?!? well, i dont really know why, but ill try to explain:
ignorance is bliss!. if i had my mind and not body, id have to suffer through knowing how disabled and impaired i was, embarrassed and sad and frustrated!. id remember how it used to be before this way, and id jsut be so depressed!. but if i have a great body but no mind power, everything would be very simple and basic, free of real problems and troubles!. i wouldnt be aware of my "condition," and id live in blissful ignorance!.
its the easy way out, but it works!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

definitely my mind, technically that will be my brain!.!. for the reason that all my bodily sensations, emotions, function, comes from my brain!.!.
i'd rather have my consciousness(mind) than just a lump of matter(body) running around!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Neither, I would rather both died!.

Some health problems affect both the mind and body, those people don't have the choice!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Body and mind are so interconnected and depend on each other, which makes this dillemma irritating and difficult!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I worked in a nursing home and have seen both!.

I would choose to lose my mind!.

To lay there, day after day, dumped by family and forgotten by friends, ignored by staff (aside from basic care) with nothing to stimulate her mind and the lack of ability to complain about it!. For that double stroke victim, losing her mind would have been blessing!.

You see, she was "too old" for the health system to spend any money helping her rehabilitate or improve the quality of her life (like providing enough staff to sit her in a chair and turning on the tv for a few hours)

Take care of your health and don't get old!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you exchange your brain with George Bush's brain, and dont change the body, what will you feel!? You have Bush's mind or Bush's body!? Definitely youll see you have your own mind with George Bush's body!.

I chose mind!. In my opinion, a mindless person means a nonliving thing!. I believe that we see thing with mind, feel with mind, etc!. Our eyes just recieves the data(light) but we dont see it until it reach our mind through nervous system!. Imagine a toy robot, it is a nonliving thing because it has no mind!. A computer doesnt have mind (it just use electricity through logic circuit to do calculation)!. Imagine someone cut off your head through the neck and you are still living!. Which part is real you!? The head or the body!? Trust me, you wouldnt care whatever happens to your body because you wouldnt feel that the body is yourself!. You will definitely feel that the head is yourself because it is where your mind lies!. And if you separate your brain from it, you will definitely feel that your brain is yourself!. A bodyless person can still feel the taste of being able to live, but a mindless person is a toy robot!. The mind is true you and the body is actually a machine that is attached with you and work according to your command!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
