If you met me in real life you would be taken aback by how honest or unintentionally arrogant I can seem at times!.!.!.
if I know that I deserve the flattery, I will be the first to admit it and say, thank you!.!.!.yes I know!

when it is justified, and also obvious!.!.!.it seems like a false sense of modesty to deny it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Flattery, by definition, is excessive (i!.e!., not justified)!. I might be deserving of praise at times, but flattery implies an ulterior motive -so I'd be wary of it!. Someone who heaps too much praise on me is either ridiculously enamored of me or is trying to get something from me -either of which I'd resist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

what's really ironic is that for years i hated flattery!.!.!.just made me feel uncomfortable!. but then i started appreciating it!.!.!.only to the worse end possible!. it seems now that the stuff i spend the most time on i never get compliments on and the stuff i hardly put an effort into at all get compliments; which i always blow off because i didn't do the work i should have!. however, now that i've said all that, i did recieve a compliment from someone who is NOT known for giving flattery out, much less something positive or nice to anyone!.!.!.!.!.i was floating! i couldn't help it!. and no matter how pessimistic i tried to be, i couldn't escape the feeling that i had accomplished something!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When it is justified, it is no longer flattery, it changes itself into appreciation/recognition, which is soooo desirable that everyone seeks it!. But it should be just right!.!.like salt in a dish!.!.!.otherwise it spoils the taste!. Excessive is also known as kowtowing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you mean sincere recognition or appreciation of my great qualities, or flattery whose intent is to gain some advantage!? If it's sincere, I accept it, humbly hopefully; if it's insincere, I consider the source for what s/he is -- dumb!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't care about flattery !. I can only tell about the person's attitude from his behavior or the type of flattery he is doing !. So it's impossible for the flattery to even affect a person simply like that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't resist well at all!. I take it all in and wallow in it!.
It feels good!. Feeling good isn't something that is usually felt by myself, so when someone wants to make me feel good I'm all for it!. Bring on the flattery!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think I take it on & try to live up to it!.
Hmm!.!.that doesn't sound very clever now that I say it!.
No it reaffirms your motives if another can see merit in your actions, it really can make somethings we do seem even more valuable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is by resistance that one attracts more of the same!.
Since flattery feels good at some level, learn how to accept it and move on!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
