I agree with some others here that "freedom of speech" is not something you need to hide behind!. I'm an opponent of censorship, though I rarely say things which might be censored!. Freedom of speech is important in preventing a "tyrrany of the majority"!. Just because an opinion is quite biased or unpopular does not mean that the opinion should not be espoused or that it should be stifled!.
Like Pale Rider, I am a U!.S!. Army veteran (though I'm considerably older than he is), and I can appreciate his viewpoint with regard to censorship though it isn't quite the same as my own!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't hide!.
I am overly loud and opinionated and don't care what anybody has to say about it! Being the arrogant jackass that I am, I feel the world is barely deserving of my informed and enlightened opinions!. I have the right to say what ever I want, by the virtue of the fact that I can speak at all!
I have nothing BUT freedom, Constitution or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

As much as I want to agree with Kel (above me), I can't!. I'm in high school, so unfortunately, even though I learn about freedom of speech over and over again, I'm not allowed to exercise it unless I want to get into trouble!. Again!.

Therefore, I don't get the chance to 'hide' behind the freedom of speech!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

with me it's what I refer to as the "howard stern mentality" which is the following:

"if you don't like what I have to say then don't listen!.!.!.!.!.
if you don't like a certain program aired on television or radio don't try and get the show or program banned just don't watch or listen to it"

It really sickens me these days that I fought and bled for this country in the USA Millitary in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and gave literally my right arm from the elbow down and right leg from the knee down as well as my right eye for freedoms that aren't used due to the fear of "offending someone"

Yeah I earned my rights to use those freedoms how about you!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the past!? Often enough to feel a complete fool!.
In the present!.!.!.never!. I learned a very important thing!.!.!.you're freedom goes only so far as the intersection with another!. Using a bit of wisdom, you know when it is time to speak and time to keep silent!. Silence can often be more eloquent than the most carefully worded speech!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

When I march for peace!.

That I am free to do, knowing I won't be mowed over by a tank!.
Thanks to the likes of those that know what conflict is all about & still suffer as a reminder of that knowledge!. Pale Rider & Dragon!.

Can anyone talk of peace, if they have never known war!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Never really!.!.!. although I know that first amendment will be a security blanket it will not burn out the flames that I light in the ones I enrage with those biased opinions!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I do not hide behind it-- I exercise it!. I do not always give my "opinion" outloud, but if I halted in thought and never shared my perspective-- then life has no growth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Biased opinion!? Hmmm!.!.!.!?
I speak truth, not biased bull sh*t!.
So "freedom of speech" is not an excuse, but rather a platter to present the truth!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I guess every time when I'm honest to the people and I'm very honest, so often!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is why we have freedom of speech!. Everyone's opinion is very biased!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
