Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder!. It is a learned and taught thing!. If beauty was in the eye of the beholder then what are we doing with the museums, art galleries, and art schools!?
Ones personal tastes are in the eye of the beholder!.
But beauty is learned either by osmosis or by the hard work of an art school!.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" is a myth perpetrated by the ignorant and the uneducated!. It is a common man's wisdom that means "he has the right to decide the great and the non great works of art"!.
After all beauty is in the eye of the beholder right!? Never mind the fact that the man or woman hasn't got a clue about perspectives, colour theory, or composition he is just as wise in the visual arts as a man or woman who has spent thousands upon thousands of dollars and years of education on the subject and has the talent to prove it!.
Here is a man or a woman who has the ability to discern beauty from what is ugly and a guy from the factory floor can call them on it!?
What is ugly you ask !.!.!. well that too can be attributed to ones personal taste but an educated artist would know for sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

There are two reasons:

1!. hormone affects perception when we are in love!.
2!. our acceptance affects our definition of beauty when we are in love!. (ugly is a reflection of unacceptable)

In short, there's all beauty from the perspective of True LOVE!.

I think when we realize we can grasp the concept of Beauty we look on all life-giving sources as beautiful!. That which destroys or negates life, though it may have pleasing sensual elements, would constitute Ugly!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
