I'd like to think that in this modern age we would have no need of inventing gods!. While science can't explain everything--at least not yet--it has consistently delivered progress and verifiable knowledge!. What's left is an ever-shrinking "god of the gaps" which more and more is simply a placeholder for the unknown!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, thats exactly what happened!.new religions are created every so offfen to fit the changing times!. Most people need to belive that there is something else out there, someone watching over them!. The thought of biend alone or that death is the end of it all terifies them more than anything!. That is wy we have religion it gives a sence of hope and security!. some people need that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It seems to be a common human tendency to invent god!. I don't know if it's written into human DNA, or just socialized or what, but it seems like a trend that has existed throughout history, and is not likely to stop anytime soon!.

In a way I suppose we did need to have some form of order like religion to bring us up from being barbarians and start the order we'd need to form a civilised society!. It's an easy way of ritualising civilised behaviour!.
I do, however, think that as a society we have out grown the need for this structure and the thing that once helped us has become damaging!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I doubted Gods existence and at least for a day i was an athiest, but I questioned our existence and life isnt just biocentric its everlasting, we live for a purpose!. read the book " 20 compelling evidences that God exists " by Kenneth D!.
