Question: A question for Atheists or Deists!.!.!.!?
In the past few years, I have come to the conclusion that I am either an Atheist or a Deist!. I just want to know what others feel about the universe and how it began or what is out there!. Sometimes when studying, I can’t get away from the thought that some being created this!. The thought has no religious meaning to me!. I like to have scientific evidence but I don’t think the answer to this question will be discovered in my lifetime!. I just want to know what other people think about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Allow me to quote Einstein:

"We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many languages!. The child knows someone must have written those books!. It does not know how!. It does not understand the languages in which they are written!. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangements of the books, but doesn't know what it is!. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God!."

Now it has been my observation that often when groups of people cannot agree on who is right, it is because they all are!. Just not completely!. The mistake people often make is in thinking their own conclusions are so sweeping as to brush all others away!. So I am a polytheist!.

I think there are a number of forces out there which shape human and even extra-human events!. I don't think that they are necessarily mysterious spirit entities, things that defy scientific examination, or even things that must be outside of ourselves!. But there are patterns and commonalities that are just simpler for me to think of in the context of a god than by other means!. So I do!.

Accepting those limitations, it works for me pretty well!. I really wouldn't expect all my gods to be the same as other peoples', though many people seem to share one or the other of them whether they realize it or not!. My take, for what it's worth!. I can only hope you find something as satisfactory for you!. Peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You can be spiritual without being religious!. I have a friend who thinks there's a God, but hates religion just as much as I do, because we both believe it's horribly corrupt and only really does harm!.
I think that eventually, we'll have to find other life in the universe!. Space is a fairly large area!. There's something else there, we've just yet to find it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I asked a question, "What do you call people who don't believe in organized religions!?" Someone said deist so I guess that's what I am!. I believe that there is some kind of God, I don't necessarily believe the one from the Bible or any of their beliefs!.!.!.just what I believe in!. I do like scientific facts also, I believe in evolution and all but some things are just unexplainable!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The universe didn't begin!. It's permanent, changing only in the form of it's content (energy to matter, etc)!.

The same leap of faith that a creator is permanent can (and should) instead be applied to the concept of a permanent physical universe!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Deists are some of the most ardent defenders of God that exist, because they value most the "reason" that God graced them with!.

How can you think you are either a Deist OR an atheist!? Atheists have no faith in God!. Deists place all faith in God!.

Sounds agnostic to me!.

an atheist who has studied the topic all of his (her) life and has honestly come to the conclusion that there is no God, AND a person who has also spent the time honestly deciding that there IS a God are both closer to the Truth than people in between!. There is an answer to be found!. Unfortunately the wisest people in history have never actually been able to resolve the issue either scientifically, or through acts of faith!. It is in the seeking that we find what it means to each of us individually!.

Life is Good !. !. !. !. both sides ultimately bear that out, and that is enough for me, until another answer becomes clear!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
