while watching the Matrix ,it occurred to me that it seemed familiar, then it struck me! The Allegory of the cave! by Plato!.
Plato used a story within a story to explain and warn about societal conditioning
that in every society the ruling order, creates order comfortable to themselves and their agendas whether knowingly or unknowingly ( by force feeding it to the trusting multitude!.that to be a part of that society one must be in compliance with that societies belief system !.that self thinking individuals are not acepted into society but are rejected/cast out !.

this fear (of being cast out)for the most part keeps the prisoners compliant!.those few that do break out of the cave and seek the light or (a higher purpose )are forever adrift from the comfort of ignorance and the companionship (albeit dysfunctional) of those he leaves behind!.
--------------------------------------!.!.!.
so in both situations there are 2 worlds 1!. the real one!. and 2!. the one we are taught to believe in!.
the philosopher/seeker must at some point decide,
the red pill or the blue pill!.
or in other words Accept what we are taught as truth, or rebell against societal conditioning!.

Actually, the "matrix" is a highly developed evolution of the old "Brain in a Vat" argument, which itself comes from many sources both Western and Eastern, including, I suspect, The Cave, as someone pointed out!.

Aside from that, anything else that is "philosophic" is just a tool used to convey the story, such as "deja vu!."

The world is more a nightmare!. And Agent Smith was the
secular Christ(a Golden Child or someone born/destined to do great things in order to save many people/the entire world)!.

The philosophy here is that the non-Christians can also have a Savior of their own without having to adopt the belief and acknowledgment of a Holy Entity(God and the Lord, Jesus Christ)!.

The theme is that the world exists under the illusion of liberation while all along is merely a "Matrix" for the
slavery/oppression that actually goes on below the threshold of our consciousness!. This subliminal existence which makes us the masters of the machines we thought we've created; whereas, in all actuality!.!.these machines were the creators and dominators of us and used a matrix in order to make us(humans) enjoy the process of being in bondage while thinking we're in a better place/scenario than we are!.
This is also a mimic of how today's society is under the matrix of corporate greed and the corruptions of big government!.
If you think about it; the average citizen earns just about enough to make ends meet!. We earn money so that we can pay our debts/bills!. Who are we indebted to!? Corporations and Government!.
So, they pay us to work just so we can pay them to live!. If that isn't a matrix I don't know what is!?
But with this movie, there is a group of people who knows the truth; disciples!. And they are anticipating the arrival of their hero; the Messiah!. See how this story parallels with real life in more ways than one!?
Anyhow, that's the philosophy/ideology of the Matrix film!.
Hoped to have been thorough!?
