I can't for the life of me remember who the authors were of the study but there was a study done on this exact question and they found that once you got into the $20,000 salary range, people's self reports of life satisfaction didn't change much even when you got into the millionaire range!. They concluded that once you have enough to sustain yourself and (barring any large debt) money did not make people significantly more happy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your first answerer has it right!.

Endorphin levels, often enhanced by championing one's inner childlike joy and memories ("true self"), are a happiness-key!.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs indicates that learning to earn permits meeting of basic needs!.

Then, as one begins to realize one has talents, joys (moving up the maslowian pyramid of values and realizations), one may well find a union of talent/joy with production/labor, hence one's sacred labor/vocation!. This fortunate state permits both self-sufficiency and happiness (Self-realization)!.

No, money does not necessarily facilitate happiness!. In fact, it typically does quite the opposite!.

When one has very little, it is easier to focus on the little things i!.e!. when something goes right at work or what adorable thing your child has just done or any number of the other small miracles of everyday life!.

Because of natural human greed the more we have, the more we want!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

With money, I can buy the things that make me happy such as the newest fashion, a spa treatment, or pay my bills and buy food!. I'd rather lack a bit of happiness than a whole lot of money because without it it's no life, unfortunately money is needed to survive!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Although MONEY will not Guarantee HAPPINESS having NO MONEY AT ALL will just about GUARANTEE SADNESS!. meaning that true happiness has to come from INSIDE being at one with yourself and just having lots of money doesn't make you a well adjusted person emotionally and psychologically BUT being BROKE and HOMELESS will pretty much GUARANTEE Misery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
