Question: Do you thin that in order to be a mystic one must lack the sense of ridiculous!?

I think rather that this would require a firm understanding or acceptance of absurdity, which is often quite ridiculous!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

one must lack the sense of self- importance and simply be natural as one is prior to all ego- identification!.!. ego is predictable, mystics are not!. you never know how they react, when they react in which way they act etc!. an egoistic man, when you approach him and shout at him, he shouts back, feels offended etc!. a mystic, you never know what hapens!. there is no ego in him to get offended!. he might ignore you, or start to laugh, start to dance, sing, do something crazy!.!.!. you never know!.!.!. :)
be a mystic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My favorite mystic poet is Hafiz and his sense of the ridiculous was shown a lot in his poetry!.

Now that all your worry
Has proved such an unlucrative business
Why not find a better job

The great religions are the ships,
The poets the life boats!.
Every sane person I know has jumped overboard
That is good for business isn't it!?

Why just show you God's menu!?
Hell, we are all Starving -
Let's eat!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

wow, a great question!. Ok, when it comes to personal interactions I think it'd be better not to invoke my sense of rediculous because that would mean Im not taking the time to understand what this person is attempting to do, or Im not helping them when I could be!. But for humours sake it most certainly is, if someones trying to entertain me by being rediculous and I cant laugh, or if Im trying to entertain them via the same method then obviously Im going to need that sense of rediculous!. Ill go with that, if I can find something rediculous but still pierce through to the heart of a matter then its not a bad thing!. I suppose in a way our sense of rediculous has always been there, though it tends to be rooted in misunderstanding I do enjoy laughing at rediculous things!. Ie Family Guy when they flash to the Firetruck hunting a gazelle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Lacking "ridiculousness" is also having a sense of rigidity and inability to accept anything but those that were "fed" by institutions!.

So, in order NOT to be a mystic, one must lack freedom of thought, and open mindedness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

No, in fact I think the opposite is probably true -the mystic must be quite well aware of the sense of ridiculousness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
