i mean i personally think they need some self confidence, because its kinda creepy to ask some internet stranger how u think you look!.!.!.i mean i jsut think thats weird

I agree it can be kinda strange, especially if the person is obviously good looking and gorgeous, because that just means they want compliments, but on the other hand some people may have a real lissue with themselves, and to have a few people say no your fine, or you look pretty could really boost their confidence more then we would ever know!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Could be extreme vanity or low self-esteem!.

Either way it's not particuarly healthy and quite superficial!.

Everyone likes to be complimented once in a while but the constant need for approval indicates a weakness of character somewhere!.

Youth, curiosity, maybe superficiality, self-absorption!. But not unusually so!. It's just human nature! Have you seen facestat!.com!? I dare you to not upload a pic!. It is so hard for us to imagine how others see us, and the info seems like it should be so valuable, even just a glimpse!.

Although I agree, the leading question "am I pretty" sounds pathetic, like a plea for a pat on the head!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Asking people if your pretty all the time is the same as asking someone if your any good at doing something if your pretty people will tell you and you wont need to ask, the same as being good at your job or at sport once again people will tell you you wont need to ask!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I could be entirely wrong about this but seems like the over emphasis of the self-esteem movement years ago failed to focus on individual development, and that this created a bunch of self worshiping hedonist with nothing to show but their physical appearance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
