Many philosophers spoke about this!. Jean-Paul Sarte said that it is a tragedy to the atheist that there is no god because then one would only have one's own choices to look to for meaning and to make up humanity!. He is famous for saying that we are "condemned to freedom!." There is also William James that said we have nothing to lose if we believe in god!. In fact, we have much to gain from faith itself!. Then there is Friedrich Nietzsche that said "god is dead!." The difference if there is no god is that people will have to live up to their own choices and affirm life through their freedom!. There are many others; my favorites are the existentialist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It makes a difference to people who feel that they are being governed and judged by their god!. "Discard righteous action and the people will return to their natural sentiments" was spoken in the Tao Te Ching!. Without belief in the idea that there is a "correct" moral action, people will return to genuine manners of helping others!.

Saying that the universe wouldn't be around without one is sort of ignorant to say because the question says "does it make a difference if there is or isn't" which implies that without one the universe already exists!.

If you're interested in things like this you can pick up books by Alan Watts, Albert Camus, Jean-Paul Sartre and check out the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu (The Jonathan Star translation is a good one)Www@QuestionHome@Com

God knows everything about you!.thank him and say your prayers because he's the only one who made you and your life!.i had many problems in my life but when i think about it,i understand that if there wasn't any God,there wasn't any life!.
So,belive that there are many differences between being god and not to be him!.!.!.
Emerson,Shekspear and other people who were going well in their life, spoke about this!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes it does make a difference!. Because, if there was a God, there would be a different history to ours involving miracles (on camera as well) and everyone would believe in it!. There would be no religious bickering or religious imagination!.

Haha, but then again i don't know if there is or isn't one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well, most define God as the creator of the universe!.

So no creator - no universe!.

That would be different!.

Even if we define God only as the belief in God, things change!. Never met an Atheist that thought the world wouldn't be different without religion!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

well if there is no god than it just makes life that much more meaningful in a sense that we should all live it up and make the best experience for ourselves possible!.

if there IS a god, then hopefuly he isnt a dogmatic dictator out to judge us!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Only to the people who feel disempowered and non- responsible for their own lives and to the lives of those condemned for observing Him in an inappropriate manner!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It only makes a difference to those who believe god exists!.

(Sorry, I don't know which philosophers talked about it!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, believe it or not it does, especially when the American made money starts to smell like pure golden honey!. Did that make any sense to you!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Idk!.But I think maybe there would be much chaos if there wasn;t a God because that way more responsibility and power fall on our shoulders!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think it would only make a difference if wether the belief is there or not!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
