Question: Do your desires always match!.!.!. your wishes!?

Only in my imaginary world!.
If they matched in the real one, my life would be really boring!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sometimes but not always!.

In theory desires should match your wishes as they seem to have similar goals!.

I guess it has something to do with the subtle difference between desire and wish!.

A desire seems to be somehow stronger than a wish and drives you that bit harder to achieve your goal!.

A wish appears to be more passive, requiring no specific action to achieve the result!.

I suppose one requires effort the other does not!.

Sometimes the efforts of desire can produce what you wish and then the two truly match!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Interesting! People seem to use the two interchangeably sometimes, but I suppose, for me, they don't always match!. For example, I might have desired loads of money or a rendez-vous with a certain (uncertain) ex-boyfriend; however, my wishes for fulfillment despite compensation and love w/o drama aren't necessarily in accordance with those desires!. A wise mentor once pointed out that turmoil results when one compromises a higher value (e!.g!., for me, self-respect, fulfilling work, etc!.) for a lower one (e!.g!., money, status, etc!.)!. I suppose one's 'wishes' might equate with one's highest values, whereas one's 'desires' might include any number of whimsical wants!. (Both are A-OK in my book!)Www@QuestionHome@Com

desire that don't match my wishes make me feel
