Question: Would you rather be free or equal!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
I would rather be free just as a bird!. Freedom gives happiness free from any curtailment!. It gives you the personal choice just as nature!. Being free allows you to think freely and gives you the opportunity to delve with your talents you could share!.

Thanks for asking!. Have a great day!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Freedom comes from a word meaning 'friend' or 'beloved'!. And that's what it is!. It is vast, noble, joyful!. It lifts you up and pulls you forward!. It can be terrifying in its expanse, but without freedom you cannot grow into it!.

Equality not only has none of those good concepts associated with it, but it has many bad ones!. While equality is fair, it is also often restrictive!. To a person who can run among those who only walk, equality is a shackle!. And to one who can fly, it is a prison!. At best, it is a second choice!. A consolation prize for those afraid of freedom or unable to achieve it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i would rather be free than equal, equality has never being in existance no matter what no human has ever been equal so being free is most inportant in human life!. prisoner have equal oppurtunity to say in jail, eat the same food but they are never at liberty to do what they want, their brain is always controlled as in when to eat, drink, rest, play around etcWww@QuestionHome@Com

I'd rather be free!. True and complete equality is impossible, and if it were possible, we would need to abandon so many of our freedoms to achieve that equality that it really wouldn't be worth it!.

Doesn't true equality mean that we ALL must wait in line for toilet paper!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I could declare myself socially free and head towards the mountains to live independently, but what freedom that would be!? What is social freedom is what people seek within their communities, and what is personal freedom is what is sought within, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually, but with a proper context, a reference point, a defining criteria in view nothing would make any sense!. How would I for instance know if I am really intellectually apt and up to the mark, and who would I ever find out what is the true state of my emotions if not through my interaction with other people, then we have religion to give us our sense of virtue, systems to give us our sense of value, without all these there would not concept of freedom - in order to know what freedom I need to know what it is not!.

But unlike the concept of freedom where there is a risk of idealisation, the concept of equality is by its very meanings suggests the presence of something concrete, in form of some people for example, to equate with!. There is nothing that can go wrong with the concept however much wrong can be done, as it is often done, when it comes to practice equality as not only as a preference for myself in relation to others, but also as my preference for other people who I might find myself with!.

I therefore would choose freedom that is well define in realistic way, that has a reference point in life, and I think the principle of equality in on way to make this happen – I respect you and I expect respect from your, I abide by the same law as you, to instance a few, then this means we both are free in the same way!.

don't think that the two are incompatible

there are too many examples of inequality being associated with the lack of freedom

- slavery
- absolute poverty within wealthy countries
- unequal access to education, occupation, politicsWww@QuestionHome@Com

True equality is about lifting other people up to our level, not reducting ourselves!.

Soooo!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.if freedom is a higher value we would achieve equality by either bring others up to our level or striving to achieve freedom!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
