Question: Does it follow that the more intelligent you are, the more unhappy you'll be!?
Is ignorance bliss!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'd say this depends primarily on where people derive pleasure!. I find myself happiest when learning new perspectives on issues and further understanding how the universe fits together!. So, for me, being able to learn quickly and think critically is integral to happiness!. Of course I know relatively little about the world in the way of politics (and have very little interest in learning much on the subject)!. So maybe my happiness is slightly dependent on my ignorance!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

No!. People with academic intelligence think they are intelligent so are unhappy because they might as well have no academic intelligence then they would be happier!.

But with social and emotional and philosophical intelligence you can accept unhappiness and then still be contented despite being unhappy!.

With philosophical intelligence you know the things that you are in control of you can be content if you control them well!. But also the things you are not in control of you will accept and therefore cannot make you unhappy by knowing you are not in control of them!.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense I have not explained it very well!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Although it may appear this way, the ignorant are clearly not in bliss--nor are the intelligent!. What you're thinking of as intelligence may be what's needed to succeed materially in this world, but that is not real intelligence!. Real intelligence is knowing who you are, not who you think you are!. Once you have this kind of intelligence all questions are answered and you are in permanent state of joyfulness!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A good question!.
If you compare an intelligent person to an unintelligent person, obviously the former will know of a lot of things that the latter is unaware of!. Some of those things will make the intelligent person happy, some will make him/her sad!. Which outnumbers which is probably down to a matter of personality!.
Although perhaps an exception to that is guilt for one's actions!. For instance, almost all of us drive, but if a person is truly unaware that they're creating pollution, then that's one way in which they're probably more content than someone who is acutely aware of that and feels bad about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Not necessarily unhappy!. But you will be more aware of how small and insignificant we and our lives are!. If you can go past this and try to make a difference in the world , you should be happy or at least pleased cause your life wasn't in vain!. If you start feeling sorry for yourself then, yes, you will be unhappy!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Considering the fact that majority of brilliant philosophers were all depressed than happy, i will have to agree!.

Ignorance is bliss, if you are intelligent, you are capable of grasping concepts of life ignorant people cant, and those concepts can be depressing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I feel that it is true, in general!.

Ignorance is bliss, but the ignorant don't know that!. It is an observation made by the unhappy, intelligent people!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is somehow true, as much as you ignore what's wrong and rigth, what's happening in the world, what are you suppose to do with your life, this make it easiert to you to enjoy the little things in the world!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are intelligent enough you realise that 'all we are dust in the wind' and all accomplishments are vain, it may lead to severe depression :SWww@QuestionHome@Com
