Question: I was just wondering, why!.!.!.!?
Why does the world have to be so closed minded on the issue of bi/gay people!? I'm just wondering!.!.!. I know this isn't in the right section, I apologize but asking it in the LGBT section comes out with some pretty obvious answers!.!.!. I'm not trying to be mean or anything, I just want to know why sexual orientation is such a big deal!? How does it affect a person's abilities and how does it make them un-human!? Some of the world's greatest people were gay/bi - Alexander the Great, William Shakespeare, Elton John, Ellen Degeneres, etc!.!. We're all humans!.!.!.life's too short to judge isn't it!? In the end does it REALLY matter!? Is it so different as the color of someone's skin!? Are we still stuck in the 1960's with unequality to that of african americans even though they hadn't done anything!? Don't we still look back at that and consider it silly and foolish to be prejudice against someone for that reason!? What happened to America being the land of the free!? Hehehe!. Anybody who's ever lived on a farm or a ranch knows that homosexuality is -not- limited to H!. Sapiens!. It's been seen in just about every creature that's ever been clinically observed!.
It just takes time for an entire civilization to 'adjust' to a new reality!.

I think the standing of homosexuals will improve tremendously in the next few decades!. A part of it is a generation thing!. Give it some time!.!.

You know, I use to consider myself one of those "closed minded" people!. It is difficult to accept something that falls outside of ones comfort level or understanding!. I've always been truly uncomfortable with the idea of same-sex relationships!.
Recently, I had the privilege of meeting two, extraordinary gay fellows!. These guys are very good friends of my brother and sister-in-law and I truly wanted to "give them a chance" for my brother's sake!. I found I was able to interact with both guys because I did not see or feel the whole gay, stereotypical behavior!.
I have to admit, I'm not sure I could have given it a fair shot if there had been outward signs of affection or "Bird Cage" type dress or behavior!. Both of these men were very easy going and just plain fun to chat and interact with!. It also helped that we shared a common interest in music which was why we were together in the first place!.!.!.a music seminar!.
I guess where I'm going with this is, again, people have their comfort zones!. If the gay relationship stays down-to-earth, I do think more people will become more comfortable and able to give a chance to a gay couple!. Many times however, if the actions and behavior are over-the-top, people will shy away!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Personally, I think that people have varying degrees of homosexuality and heterosexuality, y'know!? Myself, I'm mostly attracted to men, but occasionally I am attracted to women!. (I have a girlfriend now, actually!.)
In response to a previous poster, homosexual couples can raise children!.!.!. A part of biological fitness would be *raising* the offspring and keeping it alive until it can reproduce, no!? The world is already overcrowded and there are many unwanted children that need homes!. Being unable to reproduce isn't a part of it so much as raising children to adulthood and having the same benefits as a heterosexual couple doing the same thing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Okay, first of all, f*ck the bible, this is not where you should get your information from!. Not in this day and age, for chrissakes!. Whether we like it or not, we have evolved!. Well, some of us have anyway!. The world is closed minded about your particular line of inquiry because everyone, subjectively, asks what's in it for them!. I am no exception to this rule!. What's in it for me, insofar as the gay issue is concerned, is I am concerned about the population glut, global pollution, and the Soylent Green effect!. Therefore, I am a big fan of gayness!. I, unfortunately, am heterosexual and I can't help it but a woman's body just curls my toes!. This by no means should be construed as an overwhelming desire to reproduce on my part!. Not at all!. I choose not to, despite the fact that the world has lost some choice DNA by my passing!. But I digress!. Let me just say that homosexuality has my full support!. It may even save the planet!. The most FUNDAMENTAL characteristic of life is that it reproduces!. Barring a bullet to the brain, sexual orientation is as big a deal as it gets!.
No one wants to stone Elton John, but PLEASE stop pretending the distress over a child committing genetic suicide is somehow akin to racial prejudice!.
In the end it REALLY does matter!. The cycle of life matters!. Having children matters!. Gays need to stop trying to steal social benefits intended for 'breeders' by claiming gay marriage is the same as straight marriage!. People with high risk sexual lifestyles should not be in the same insurance group with soccer moms!.
And gays REALLY need to stop comparing their struggle to the African American experience!.
Getting kidnapped, beaten, forced into slavery & enduring hundreds of years of second class citizenship is NOT the same as POSSIBLY losing your job IF you decide to come out!.

But Marriage Law is fundamentally about providing financial support for raising kids - which are in fact created by sex, which makes sexual orientation RELAVANT to marriage law!.

I had a best friend, who when she "came out of the closet," stopped being my friend and started to hang with only other gay people!. I guess I wasn't gay enough for her!. Anyways, with that being said!.!.!.!. I'll continue on!.!.!. I personally find gay activities sicking, I don't find anything wrong with it, you know whatevers your cup of tea; but to me sexually, its gross!. As far as homos being accepted by God, I don't think my God would deny acceptance of a person he created simply because they're gay!. Unless your a gay serial killer!.!.!.!.!. Honestly, I figure if God had such a problem with homos, they wouldnt be!.!.!.
However, (addressing the issue if being gay is related to gene/chromosomes issues) if your gay because your body wasnt "made right" wouldnt that be the same as someone being mentally challenged, or being born without a limb, or being blind!.!.!.!.!.!. I mean if this study is true, then, homos cant help but to be gay, so if being gay is wrong and going against God, being blind, crippled, mentally challenge should be considered the same!. (that is if being gay is caused by gene/chromosomes issues) which I dont know is true or not and really dont care!.
Anyways, if I go out wearing an outfit that I love, but to everyone else looked crazy, I would expect to be made fun of, why!? Because the outfit would not be a norm, being gay, is not a norm, so you cant expect respect from everyone, because they expect you to be straight, which your not!. But it takes a strong person to go out wearing that outfit!.!.!.!.!.

"homosexual" wasn't a word till 1869 so it can't be a sin "The Greek text of the NT does NOT use the specific word homosexual!. If you have a Bible that uses the specific word "homosexual," then you need to throw it out and get a new Bible, the translators have taken gross liberties!. The word being translated to "homosexual" in 1 Corithians 6, and 1 Timothy 1 is "arsenokoitai!." This word does not appear in Greek writings prior to Paul's use of it in the NT!. PAUL MADE THE WORD UP!!!!! Nobody knows for sure what meaning Paul was trying to convey by it's use!. If the meaning Paul wanted to convey was homosexual, then he would have used the word "paiderasste", which was the term used at the time for male homosexual!. The word "paiderasste" does not appear in the Bible!. "Arsenokoitai" is made up of two parts: "arsen" means "man"; "koitai" means "beds!." Literally translated "arsenokoitai" is a "male-bedder!." It is interesting to note that during the time of Martin Luther, the word was universally translated as masturbators untill the 20th century!. Male-bedder has also been interpreted to mean a male prostitute!. Which seems to me would be much closer to it's meaning than homosexual!. The Greek word being translated as effeminate is "malakoi!." The word appears two other times in the NT, both times being translated as "soft!." Taken in the context of this passage some believe it to actually mean "soft in morals!." Within it's context, that meaning makes more sense than it does as a descriptive of a person's outward mannerisms!. Jesus, himself, never says one word against homosexuality!. If it is the grave sin it is made out to be, then you would think that Jesus would have mentioned it!. In fact, Jesus may have confirmed that homosexuals are from birth in Matthew 19:11!. The modern meaning of the word eunuch is a castrated male!. However, in ancient times it was a broad term that included any man who lacked sexual desire for women for whatever reason!. Hence, their use as chamberlains or officers in the Bible!. It should be noted that men who are castrated after puberty do not lose their sex drive, and historically have made untrustworthy chamberlains!. In fact, many women of the harem preferred having sex with castrated males because they could not get pregnant by them!. Jesus even states that not everyone can accept this word!. If eunuch simply meant a castrated male or a person born with deformed genitals, then why would some not be able to accept this word!? If the ancient term "eunuch" did indeed include homosexuals (some surviving ancient Roman literature points to this), then Jesus was proven right, some cannot accept that homosexuality is normal and natural from birth!. BTW: Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of homosexuality!. The decision to destroy the city of Sodom was made prior to the incident with the angels!. Ezekeiel 16:49-50 tells us exactly why the city of Sodom was destroyed: "Now this was the sin of your sister Sodom: She and her daughters were arrogant, overfed and unconcerned; they did not help the poor and needy!. They were haughty and did detestable things before me!. Therefore I did away with them as you have seen!." There is no mention of homosexuality!. In Matthew 10:14-15 & Luke 10:7-16, Jesus implies that the sin of the people of Sodom was inhospitality to strangers!. Jude 1:7 talks about the sin of Sodom as "going after strange flesh!." That would seem to me to be talking about bestiality, the angels were not human!. Would angels even be confined to definitions of male or female sexual characteristics!? The other problem with saying that this story is about homosexuality is that Lot offers his two daughters to the mob!. Lot lived in Sodom and would have certainly known if the men in the mob were homosexual!. Why would he even offer his two daughters to a mob of homosexuals!? If the mob's intentions were homosexual in nature, then why didn't Lot offer the mob his two future son-in-laws!? Romans 1:26-27 is not speaking about people with a homosexual orientation!. It is speaking specifically about heterosexual men and women who go against their own sexual orientation!. The key word here is "exchanges!." That implies that the men and women being talked about had known something different previously!. They had previously known the truth about God, then exchanged him for what they knew to be a lie, (what went against their own nature!.) but even though i think that way i believe that they can choose to live what ever way they want!. just leave me out of it!.
