Yes, (smile) this one can well imagine such!.

One of the realities of being in such a situation is that one can choose ot make it much worse for one's self or much better by the manner in which that one chooses to view life and the world!.

Chronic pain, although obvioulsy uncomfortable, can be managed with the discipline of one's will and the focus of one's concentration!.

Such would seem to be important as during the remainder of one's life, it may be wiser to be as aware as possible and this one has found that "pain killers" can cloud one's mind and limit awareness!.

The other reality is that one must realize that anything which has a beginning has an ending!. Neither the pain nor my body will last indefinitely and both will have an end!.

It might also be helpful for many to also realize that no matter how uncofortable or "bad" one many think that he or she has it, there is undoubtedly many who are in a worse state of affairs!.

Living in the West, this one has many meidcal options for treatment, pain management and a variety of services availalbe that many persons in less developed nations might not have as an option!. This one often chooses to focus on them, the other "ones", so as to see what can be done to assist them as this one might wish to be assisted!.

Another reality is that everyone has a "terminal illness" and that none of us will leave here alive (at least physically)!. Some of us simply have a better idea as to when that immeidate change may occur (although such a prognoises is often inaccurate!.)

It would also seem more important to care for those who will remain after this one is no longer physically present in the current manifestation!. How can this one assist them to deal positively with such a change!? When this one considers his daughter (age 7), this one hopes that she will be enabled to deal with such in a manner that promotes her personal and spiritual growth and that others might care for her when this one is not physically able to do so!.

Be well (no pun intended!.!.!.)

ADDITION:
Turtle made a wise statement and often the "cure" kills the patient!. Many times such a cure is only able to delay the inevitable!. Is it ever wise or kind to add suffering uopn suffering!? This one made the choice that such is not a path this one will follow!.

This one might also recommned "The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying", by Sogyal Rinpoche as a means by which Western minds might find some assistance in understanding and preparing for the eventual end!.

May all breathe, be and live!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Words are indeed fortunate to not feel the pains as flesh and mind does!. A letter or word can be erased or replaced which can cause pain to the mind of a human body but the computers would simply report a misplaced symbol and leave it to a tech to save it's programs!. Humans or many of them do not get the same treatment as the computer or other technology!. The world of humanity does not have devoted servers for any length of time for recovery and repairs!.I could write more on the subject but my response would only be in theory and as any theory goes, they take time to prove as fact or fiction!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If we people could stop only for a moment every day, to think how lucky and blessed we are just by walking, having our senses, I believe the world would be much better!. I have in my friends people with terminal diseases and what I can do for them to offer them my presence and show them the simplicity and beauty of simple moments and events!. I am trying not to show them at all, my sorrow for losing them so soon!. The thought that maybe in a year, maybe in a month I will not have the chance to offer them a hopeful word, a nice gift, something to lighten up their day, is making me so sad!. I can offer nothing to their body pains, but I can offer my best to their soul's pain!. I try and I hope I am doing quite well!. This is an expression of my love for them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nearly everyone in my family/town has died of some horrendous cancerous disease and I've seen people who were vital and full of life destroyed not so much by the disease itself but the treatments they had to endure to try to cure them!. Most of the time the cure is worse than the disease!. I can see if you have little kids or just starting out to want to do everything you can to stay alive, but since I don't have to worry about kids or anything but my animals I have decided that if I become ill with a terminal disease I will not undergo treatment and I will ask to be allowed to die in peace!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes!.

Whenever I see people in pain I instinctively want to take that pain away!. I know I only feel a fraction of their pain and my heart goes out to them!.

I want to touch them, pass on a loving thought and numb the pain, to put a smile on their face if only temporarily!.

It never ceases to amaze me that people with terminal disease and great pain seem to be so courageous and accepting of the hand that fate has dealt!.

We really should take more time to be thankful for our good health and freedom from pain when life's other trivialities drag us down!. We should take time to spare a thought or two for all those suffering in the world today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Nobody can really imagine what they are going through but I have thought about it and this is why I believe that euthanasia should become legal for those who want to have a dignified and peaceful ending!. Everybody should have the right to life and the right to be assisted in taking of their own if wanted in such situations!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

YES---we are lucky that we are with good health!.it is very difficult to visualise the pain of others!. the intensity that visualisation depends on the nearness that the suffer has with us!. our love, nearness and sensitiyity for him increases the pain visuals!.
even if we spend a few minutes with them and are able to reduce thei rpain -- may be an iota only for a few seconds----- and pray for their reduction of pain it will be a great humanitarien work!.

YES WE SHOULD STOP AND THINK FOR A MOMENTWww@QuestionHome@Com

Even when you think you are healthy, a terminal illness can happen to anyone at anytime

To think of the times I have complained of being tired or that this joint or that joint aches!. Kind of puts that all into perspective and yes I am fortunate!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
