there are people who say what they think even if this is considered rude, but also so apparent that no one mentions it, because!.!.!. well, it's rude!

some things are just in our minds and we may forget and let them blind us, that's why someone some day has to remind us!. this doesn't make a person shallow just because they told us the truth!.
sure it's true that the good self we show is not always the true self, but what if we do this to make the other person feel good!? some people want to hear that you're on their side and if they don't hear this, you are the bad person who wants to hurt them!. what they have in their mind, blinds them, but someone some day will come to clear up their view!. ;)

you can't be absolute, so no, i don't think we are just shallow facades of our hidden truths!. of course, if someone realises this, it must mean that they want to correct it; to stop hiding their truths!. it's not bad to show your emotions, i guess you know that!. feeling a little left out because something good happened to someone else and not to you is human!. even those who say they're happy with your happiness and sad with your sadness, have felt it!.
now, if someone is THAT shallow all the time of their life!.!.!. well, they have issues!

wow, long answer! i'm sorry for this, i hope you understand!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree that what we hide is genuine & profound, but that doesn't mean that what we show the world is simply a shallow facade!. They are different facets of who we are (which is pretty complicated)!. We hide certain things because we don't want everyone to know our innermost thoughts and feelings, it's a convention of civility and a form of political correctness (imagine that -me, politically correct!)!.
However, what we do show the world can still be deep and genuine as well!.

"Well, we all have a face that we hide away forever
And we take them out and show ourselves when everyone is gone
Some are satin, some are steel
Some are silk and some are leather
They're the faces of a stranger
But we'd love to try them on"
-Billy Joel, "The Stranger"Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is part of our aesthetics but it is not a shallow facade!.
They are genuine & profound & are not so much hidden as intentionaly left out!. This is a rough quote "It is not the notes that make the music but the spaces in between" I feel the spaces that we leave in, are part of the poetry or suggestion of who we are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

!.!.!.I know I am for I could never just "lay everything out" on the table to be mangled and picked over as in a bargain basement "one day only" sale!.!.!.I'm not completely stealthy, but I will take care to display myself in a more respectful nature!.!.!.as for others, it's really a pea shootWww@QuestionHome@Com

Indeed!. Oh you might share it, not try to hide it necessarily, but how does one really ever capture with words or awkward display what is inside!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
