It's not that much easy to answer your question, though you already have got so many answers! Like length, height, distance----none can measure the amount of so-called "richness"!. But there are some 'fools' who after crossing their poverty level, start thinking themselves as RICH!. The same 'fools'---when they ultimately become RICH, get a lesson & deny to be called themselves as RICH! Why!? As I said before, there are no UNITS to measure richness; so they become greedy or anxious to earn more to be "real" RICH :-) It's the media who measures (or take a poll) the wealth of Bill Gates---but not by Bill Gates himself! If Mr!. Bill Gates become the NO-1 RICH, obviously the 2nd one is POOR! :-) Philosophically speaking, a POOR can feel himself as RICH sometimes! Think it deeply!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Those who are truly rich know!. They also create jobs, employ people, and spread it around!. They contribute to society!.

You also have a second class of so-called rich people who just spend money, then worry about people stealing what they have!. Most of those have inherited wealth of some sort (relative or lottery or other income)!. They weren't raised with money and have no idea how to handle it!. They are often destroyed by it!.

By the way, the definition of being rich for the rest of us is not having to worry how we are going to pay our monthly bills!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the abstract, I think they do, but in practical applications, I think most people, including the rich, feel in their guts that their circumstances are "average" even if their circumstances are very unusual!.

That's why you hear silly things like "Well, they should manage their money better" in reply to statements about poor people!.

That's what allows rich people to be so oblivious to how their social system oppresses most of us!. No one thinks of themselves as a "bad guy!." There are always "good reasons" in their minds as to why they do what they do!.

I remember former U!.S!. vice president and multi-millionaire Nelson Rockefeller was once quoted as saying something like "The average guy, you know, only makes two or three hundred thousand a year!.!.!." That was in the 1970s, mind you -- and even today, for most Americans, two or three hundred thousand dollars is a LOT of money!.

I think that where you stand depends on where you sit, so to speak!. I believe that most wealthy people can't even imagine what it's like to put something you want back on the grocery shelf because you can't afford it!.

Could a noble or a king in the Middle Ages imagine what life was like for a peasant!? I doubt it!. They thought of the peasants as being like animals, not even human!.

The same way today's rich think about the rest of us!.

So I don't think that they really know they are rich, but think they are normal, and that the rest of us are BELOW normal!.

They wouldn't be called rich if they are not!. Rich people know their extent of wealth!. They are business minded people and all they think is to become richer and wealthier!. Rich people reach their status because they know how they get there!.

No because there is no way to gage who is rich and who is poor, a poor person here is rich compared to the starving in Africa, some who are considered rich are no Bill Gates etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
