No, a straight line is an ideal!. You can get pretty close by stretching a piece of string between two points, but a true straight line exists only as a theoretical construct, like a perfect circle!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Relativity remember, straight is a relative term!.
a true straight line would have to have ideal spacial dimensions that were not effected by any gravity, then you would need a massless particle so that it did not cause curvature then you would need it to transit the shortest distance between two points, so to meet all the conditions may be very difficult it would be prudent not say that the laws of our universe prevent a straight line only that it is very difficult to meet the conditions it would take to have one!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all I would like to light upon the fact that there is no straight line,for every line is actually a curve!.If you start drawing a straight line and keep on moving from one place,one day, going around the earth ,you will reach the same spot whence you had started!.
Now, about truth we can say that the present truth remains truth until a new truth replaces it!.What we have started believing in is a kind of truth for us, but tomorrow a better understanding of the same thing can prove that what we had been believing in was not true!.J!.S!.Mill has said,"We can never catch the bird of truth"!.He is right because we get the particles of truth in our life!.
