I have thought about that many times, I have even heard it made as a statement as apposed to a question!. My answer to you is not direct but: I think it all depends on the given situation!. If your silent you may learn something by way of arrogance but then again, if you open your mouth you just may learn humility!.

It depends on the situation!. No one is perfect!. A wise person can make a foolish statement; a fool could utter something wise!.

The foolishness largely comes from not thinking about the consequences of what one wants to say!. But sometimes it's worth the risk!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ignorance is strength, having knowlegde also holds responsibilities!. Ignorance is also having freedom!. Freedom from those responsibilities, pain, anger, fear, etc!.
BUT
