Identify premises and conclusions!. For every premise that you may find, encase them within a box; and for every conclusion encircle them!. If there are indicator words, underline them!. It would be wise to use a pencil!. also, tell whether how many propositions you may find in each passage!.


1!. I am having difficulty in accepting that the UST Tigers would make it in the Final Four this season!. Last year they didn’t make it and to make matters worse, Alwyn Espiritu already graduated last year!. How are they to make it this year without an experienced center!?

7!. If Laura gets married, then either Kim is the maid of honor of Donna is the maid of honor, then there will be a quarrel in the wedding!. Therefore, if Laura gets married, there will be a quarrel in the wedding!.
8!. Abortion is the killing of an innocent human being, and the killing of an innocent human is murder!. So, you can figure out what that makes abortion, can’t you!? But if that’s true, then abortion is against the will of God and contrary to civilized behaviour!. It follows that we must prevent abortions from ever taking place!.
9!. Since the German army has invaded Poland, and since it invaded Poland only if Hitler is bent on total conquest of Europe, we can easily deduce the intentions!. But if he intends the total conquest of Europe, then his army must invade France soon!. Since France’s only defense is the Maginot Line, France will fall in a matter of weeks!. Therefore, we must begin to prepare for the defense of England now!.
10!. If we pay off the blackmailers now, then we will continue to pay them more and more in the future!. So, we will not pay off the blackmailers!. And if we don’t pay them off, then we have to get the pictures!. So, what we have to do is obvious!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Here are the rules:
There can be only 3 premises in each syllogism!. It appears you may have to break some of your problems into 2 syllogisms!.
The first premise must contain the major term, which must also appear in the conclusion!.
The second premise must contain the middle term, which will also appear in the major premise, but never in the conclusion!.
The conclusion must contain (in this order, by convention) the minor term, then the major term!.
