Question: Quantum physics has proven that the "solidity of matter" is an illusion, given what we know!.!.!.!?
!.!.!.about the "true nature" of atomic bonds, and how everything is "held together" with shared electrons, protons, and everything else I won't go into right now because I don't have room in this format to teach 6 years of higher physics to anybody, but my question is, given this fact!.!.!.
!.!.!.What do you think might be the "macroscopic human ramifications" of this knowledge of "illusionary solidity" that perhaps even our highest physicists have overlooked concerning what this "fact of existence" really means for us as human beings!? In other words, does not this knowledge of "illusionary solidity" mean that almost everything we think of about the nature of ourselves is fundamentally incorrect!?

I mean!.!.!.now that we know we are not "solid" beings, shouldn't we start changing our behavior to account for that startling fact!?
I don't mean to say that I know how we should do that, I'm just asking if that piece of modern knowledge should mean that we "should!?"Www@QuestionHome@Com

Quantum mechanics demonstrates that decoherence of a wavefunction does not require either mass or energy!.
If God, Mind, is conceptualized as a Wavefunction, human beings could be downloading portions of Consciousness, intuitively!.

Rupert Sheldrake http://www!.sheldrake!.org discusses this, as do http://www!.quantumbrain!.org
http://www!.tiller!.org (his book, "Psychoenergetic Science," has a good SU(2) model of intentionality and biofield/soul, which in double blind experiments per trained meditators has created certain quantum state effects that are otherwise seen only using high end physics apparatus), http://www!.integralscience!.org http://www!.noetic!.org http://noosphere!.princeton!.edu http://www!.tcm!.phy!.cam!.ac!.uk/~bdj10 and http://www!.divinecosmos!.com

One useful meditation correlated with quantum theory is mindful expansion of one's awareness beyond one's physical body temple!. This also obtains with pre-dream intention: "The Master of Lucid Dreams," Dr!. Olga Kharitidi and http://www!.lucidity!.comWww@QuestionHome@Com

nice question!. thanks!. more later!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I see what your getting at but I dont really see how it really changes anything, what behaviour do we change and why!? What are the practical applications for this theory!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It says in the good book, so a man thinks so he is!.
In Quantum mechanics everytime we measure an quantum object it changes from it's real state!. I feel nothing is proven until it is measured!.
So in that case we must know how to think and behave before we change anything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

how could it possibly change anything!? even if the wall's solidity is only an illusion, it will still hurt like hell when i walk into it!.

i also don't see how this means that everything we think about the nature of ourselves in fundamentally incorrect!.!. its just a deeper level of understanding!. does the fact that i am not physically touching the chair that i am sitting on change the way i think about sitting!? not really!.!.!. it "seems" like i am, and its a useful approximation for getting through everyday life!.

so anyways, i don't think there are any real ramifications, because the level that this discovery is on has so little in common with the level that we are accustomed to living at that we cannot really integrate it into the task of daily livingWww@QuestionHome@Com

Perception is reality!.
Deal with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

is this how come we can meditaite and actualy leave are bodys behind and like float around !.!.!.probably not ur talking about something else huWww@QuestionHome@Com

This is not really a new revelation!. Plenty of physicists have written about the similarities between the relatively new discoveries in quantum physics with the writings of esoteric mystics!.
Fritjof Capra was one of the pioneer physicists in this field in the early 70s with his book "The Tao of Physics", and more recently books by physicist Paul Davies (eg "The Mind of God")!.
Early mystics such as Leadbetter in his book "Esoteric Chemistry" and Helena Blavatsky in her range of books including "The Secret Doctrine" writing in the late 1900s wrote extensively of sub-atomic particles and even string theory (a more recent development by science)!.
I'm glad to see that yet another trained physicist is coming to the realisation that the world is not necessarily as it seems!. I hope you are enthused to continue investigations!.

Cheers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do you see any reason I should change any of my typically human behavior because I realized that our reality is possible only because of the instability of sub-atomic particles and their vibrations!?
Most people can't think like you - they will never grasp what it means to "exist", physically or metaphysically!.
What your knowledge *does* give you though is the notion that there is so much more to reality than we could possibly perceive with our senses!.
To answer your question, it definitely *should*!. But it won't except for those who have thoroughly read Brian Greene or studied physics!.
But I smell what you're cooking!. It opens up so many possibilities as far as conceptions of time and space go and the posibilities of cross-dimentional manipulation go!. Blows my feeble mind!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The most important ramification of this knowledge I think has to come back to the way we perform science!. Quantum mechanics shows us that observation alone affects matter!. This act of observation has to do with consciousness, something that does not have a place in the study of nature!. We need to realize that consciousness is indeed part of nature, incorporate it to science and re-build the foundations of science!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

So what you are saying is that we are powder!?!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The globe constantly turns, in motion with the sun, moon and other planets!. Perpetually moving and revolving!. The atmosphere, environment remains static and yet if you analysed each atom of air, the results would differ from the preceding test!. Only to find the same experiment applied a month or so later has revealed the original chemical makeup!.

Correlation between particles about us change and metamorphosise and yet are self balancing and regain a perfect equilibrium naturally!. Quantum Physics has not as yet completely found what triggers and proves these cycles of motion, or a catalyst from which all things move into motion!. As so many cogs in the large world machine, man is required to find the One from which all pours forth, rests upon the axis of, and is held by …

When man learns this small but significant finding, all else will be revealed, if God* so wills…Www@QuestionHome@Com

Since the start of my diarrhea last week can I appreciate your great concern with the masses here!. Yep, nothing is solid!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Love" isn't solid either, so maybe as a "behavioral change" we should all start becoming more "lovable," but!.!.!.

Sigh!.!.!.Hee Hee!.!.!. I hope this helps *wink*Www@QuestionHome@Com

Everything is on a different vibrational level!. Such as stuff and such!.!.!.!.

and you and me!.!.!.so lets get vibrational together Baby!.!.!.!.

(so effing intelligent!.!.!.!.I know)

Everything most of "us" think about our bodies is false!. And most should care more than they do!. Or at least think about it!. And I have no kind of inkling of knowledge as to what you are talking about with your "big" words!. But I'm pretty sure I'm one of those people who at least recognizes the fact of my "illusionary solidity" of my existence intuitively!.

(You smoked a lot last night, didn't you!.!.!.!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm no expert to answer everything, but just wanted to comment on something

Newton thought that gravity was an instantaneous force!. Albert Einstein prove that Newton's concept of gravity was wrong, as Einstein's general relativity shows that gravity is in fact, a curvature of space-time fabric!.

Quantum mechanics offers no any explanation whatsoever about gravity!. It just governs the other 3 fundamental forces!.

So what we have today is one set of theory, general relativity, that governs the world of the large, like what we observe in the universe to our everyday life out there!. And another completely different set of theory, the quantum mechanics to explain the world that's smaller than what our eye can see, the all the atoms and electrons stuff!.

But if we think about it, something is not right!. We only have one universe, how can one universe being govern by two different physics law!?

Some scientist thinks that the new superstring theory may be the theory of everything that can governs both large and small world, and explain all 4 fundamental forces!. But of course this theory still remains unproven and are not accepted by many!.

Its going to take alot to replace the current standard model, which currently still fails to explain gravity!. But at the same time, our current view of the universe isn't perfect!. Its just the best explaination we have!. Just like how Newton's law of gravity is enough to launch space craft to the moon, even if his concept of gravity was wrong!.

The fundamental idea we have about nature right now may not be entirely correct!. Its just how we interprets nature to be, but it isn't necessarily how nature works!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It turns me on when you talk like that!. I'm just sayin!. ?Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have made me realize that a solid existance is loosely held togeter and our molecular structure is just an illusion!.
Now you throw in loose love too!.!.!.!.ok, I can change!.!.!.!.!.and then what would the ramification of that be!?
More loveable!? Now that would be impossible!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.well, maybe not!.
I, for one, think love is very solid, and if you ask some other people I bet they wouldn't want to change the illusion that is tapping this out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
