Great Q!. Related: Everyone wants to know what "wisdom" is!. So regarding your question, I think this quote consitutes "wisdom!."

"Errors of Knowledge vs!. Breaches of Morality"
"Learn to distinguish the difference between errors of knowledge and breaches of morality!. An error of knowledge is not a moral flaw, provided you are willing to correct it; only a mystic would judge human beings by the standard of an impossible, automatic omniscience!. But a breach of morality is the conscious choice of an action you know to be evil, or a willful evasion of knowledge, a suspension of sight and of thought!. That which you do not know, is not a moral charge against you; but that which you refuse to know, is an account of infamy growing in your soul!. Make every allowance for errors of knowledge; do not forgive or accept any breach of morality!. Give the benefit of the doubt to those who seek to know; but treat as potential killers those specimens of insolent depravity who make demands upon you, announcing that they have and seek no reasons, proclaiming, as a license, that they “just feel it”—or those who reject an irrefutable argument by saying: “It’s only logic,” which means: “It’s only reality!.” The only realm opposed to reality is the realm and premise of death!.
Galt’s Speech, For the New Intellectual, 179

Errors of knowledge are NOT WRONG morally speaking, so it is not something to worry about!. Even if you have an idea that lasts 1000 years before being proved to be different (think Aristotle's cosmology being used until Galileo), it was true for 1000 years and you were not morally wrong for being wrong then!.

"Infallibility is not a precondition of knowing what one does know, of firmness in one’s convictions, and of loyalty to one’s values!."

I'm sure there are things we haven't discovered that would revolutionize what we think about ourselves, in fact one of those things may be life on other planets, on the front page of yahoo today Steven Hawking says that is a good possibility!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I guess it depends on how solid a foundation you have and how sure of yourself you are!. I know I am what I am and I am not a naive fool!. Most things have evidence and proof to back them up!. I remain openly sceptical about things like aliens and ghosts!.!.!.!. and god!. I am hedging my bets!Www@QuestionHome@Com

yap! We are what we are! But we can change any time or become changed!Www@QuestionHome@Com

According to existentialism we are what we make ourselves to be, thus it wouldn't really matter what we _really_ are!.

A thing I just have to comment on:

QUOTE:[Alex]
"in fact one of those things may be life on other planets, on the front page of yahoo today Steven Hawking says that is a good possibility!."

Based on logic: The Universe in infinite, thus there is an infinite amount of objects in the universe!. What it more, there should also be an infinite amount of planets that are suitable for life and as a consequence: infinite amount of life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
