Was knowledge gained by first hand experience or by following sound advice - fresher, hitting more senses making a stronger impression to the lesson learned!?

I try to plan ahead, but I find this usually doesn't work for me!. I almost always procrastinate, and because I put everything off till the last minute, I tend to never get anything finished on time!. Unfortunately, punctuality really isn't my thing!. Seems like I'm always 15 minutes late!.
