Question: ANY TIPS FOR A LEAD SINGER!?
I'm the lead singer and rhythm guitarist/pianist for a band!. Musically, we pretty much kick @$$, but I'm new to playing in front of large numbers of drunken b@stards, so I tend to not talk enough or work the crowd in between songs!. Fortunately, our bassist is very good in this department, but they want me to step it up a bit!. Any advice!? I know I will get better the more I do it, but does anyone with experience have any ideas for accelerating the process!? Thanks!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The only way you can get there is by doing it!. You have to have confidence in yourself and understand the situation!. Even drunkards like to have a good time!. You can help them by opening up a little and tell a stupid joke or two between songs!. If you need inspiration, listen to some live stuff from pre 1975 Genesis when Peter Gabriel was the singer!. He was the master when it came to working a crowd!. Unfortunately, you'll have to download it because most of the officially released material edits out his work between the songs!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

try to be something different, don't imitate someone, sing in your own unique voice and make sure that you and your lead guitarist compensates for each others shortcomings, microphone technique also plays a huge role in vocals!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i think that more connected you are with your music whenyou are playing , it will generate more connections with the crowd,

good luck
