Welcome to the next level Mason! lol!. Make sure you clean your hands and under your nails before and after playing, and clean your strings as well!. Can't stress good manicure enough!. This will help prevent any inflamation or infections!. Long session are not unusual particularly if there are deadlines!. Try not to do it all the time though!. Once you develop calluses on your calluses you won't feel a thing!. In the meantime, Anbesol isn't just for teeth!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I know exactly how you feel! I'm teaching myself how to play the guitar and my friend, who is an experienced guitar player, said that basicly you just have to play a lot and you'll eventually get used to it!. you can all so take a finger nail file to your finger tips and rub it agains them for about a minute!. It sounds painful to use the fingernail file, but it's practicly painless!. No matter what, when your starting out your fingers are going to hurt!. Just pace yourself like practice for about 15 mins and then wait for a little and just continue that untill you have about an hour's worth of practice!. hope things work out for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Usually, this happens with beginners!. Soon, slight callouses will form on you playing fingers (really, not enough to visually notice) which will remain with you for years and years!. And the pain will disappear!. I studied guitar with lessons for years!. Stopped playing for years!. Picked up a guitar after not playing for 4 years and it was as though I never stopped!. fingers worked, no pain!. etc!. Good Luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

6 hours is too much playing time!. A performances rarely goes beyond 3 hours with one or two breaks!.
It is actually possible to over practice!.
You can try all sorts of remedies, but in the long run you are going to have pain playing 6 hours a day!.
Stay away from the pain killers, You can get addictedWww@QuestionHome@Com

Keep playing with more pain will make calluses to form so the skin get very tough!. Usually people shy away from this but I play drums for hours now without pain because of reforming blisters made calluses!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Thanks for asking your question,

How about playing a little less hours
for a while!.!.!.!?

First, soak them in cold water, and take an aspirin (or some sort of anti-inflammatory)

Then see if you should get some softer strings!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
