You can use a program called GoldWave, its free!. Download it and after you install it open your file, go to "Effect>Stereo>Reduce Vocals!.!.!." Play around with the stereos and stuff till you get what you want, the vocals will still be in the background but you can get it really soft and barely audible!. This might work but for some songs it doesn't turn out very good!. Just good luck and I am giving you no guarantees that it will work because I don't know what song you are trying to do!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Your best option is to find a free music software download that allows you to manipulate the song, so you need to talk to someone who knows something about music technology, because that software generally isn't free!.

The software I know of that allows editing is: Sibelius, Finale, and SmartMusic!. All have free downloads on their site - but, YOU have to input the music (meaning on sheet music) for it to work!.

You could also try looking up "Band in a Box" software!. I don't know if it's free, but it couldn't hurt to look!.
Try posting on the Sibelius "education" message boards!. A music technology expert could easily help you there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Check my completed answers - I am en expert in digital music technology, and THIS DOES NOT WORK!. You would need access to the original studio tracks, BEFORE they are mixed into channels, to do this!. People that say this DOES work are trying to sell you software or hardware - which gives you a MESS!. This was possible in the Fifties and early Sixties, because of the way that music was recorded THEN - but certainly, not now!. You have to buy a karaoke version - which is made FROM the original tracks, or from *covers* of them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
