Question: Electric (!?) guitar strings on acoustic guitar!?
I have a Taylor 110 that I usually string with Elixir medium gauge Nanowebs, but I have a pack of Ernie Ball Power Slinkys (I usually put these on my Strat) that I want to try it with (!.11-48)!. They say that they're "Acoustic or Electric Guitar String," but they're also nickel wound, and I've never seen acoustic guitars with nickel string!. Is this a misprint!? Or is it safe to put on this acoustic guitar!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Hi

Usually, nickel doesn't play well on an acoustic or acoustic electric!. You lose too much volume and sounds like krap LOL!.!.!. Get bronze or phosphor bronze!.

You won't damage the guitar trying it and the action will be better than your medium gauge, that is for sure!. Hey!.!.!.!.!. tryit!. I tried all kinds of things on my guitars!.!.!. Nothing to lose!. All you will gain is experience for the next time around!.

Good luck!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
