Question: Drum line/Snare line heirarchy!?
Ok so im talking specifically about the snare drum line here!. I know that with multiple snare players in a line the center snare is typically the most experianced player and you are told to " listen in" to them and make what you play sound like what they are playing!. what im wondering is if there is any order to were any other people are placed!. For example the other day we were practicing for a parade and we have 3 snares on our line!. our instructor in the middle of the practice randomly had me and the person on the other side of the center snare switch places!. I didnt really know why!. we were in an arc with basses to our left and quads to our right so i was moved from next to the basses to next to the quads!. I really dont care though because i like being on that side anyway but im basically just wondering why it makes a difference!. if you guys could answer that would be great, anyone with marching/ drum corps like experiance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Some lines have the center snare keep time for the rest of the drum line!. On our line, the rookie players were on the outside and the more experienced on towards the center!. However, what side you're on doesn't matter!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
