Bass trombones play the same as any normal tenor trombone!. So your instrument plays in concert pitch!.

The big difference between the Tenor Trombone and Bass trombone is that there is a very minute change in the diameter of your slide, and there is a quite large change in the size of the bell typically a one to two inch variance!.

The biggest difference though is that most professional bass trombones have two triggers instead of one!. The first is tuned in F like the normal F - attachment tenor trombone!. However, The second trigger is tuned in Gb (in most cases!.!.!.!. Some places will allow you to get a customly tuned second trigger!.!.!.!. http://www!.edwards-instruments!.com/tromb!.!.!. )!. The two triggers give you access to in incredible length of tubing allowing you to play lower notes!.

The other huge difference is that your going to be adding tons of weight to hold when you play!. Bass trombones are incredibly heavy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
