Pretty much all music players use the same type of stand!. Depending on your height and what instrument you play, you may use a different height setting, but pretty much all stands should be able to adjust!.

Basically, there are 2 kinds of music stand!. There are "wire" music stands such as this one (http://wwbw!.com/PROLINE-Music-Stand-i765!.!.!. And there are "solid" music stands such as this one (http://wwbw!.com/Musicians-Gear-Heavy-Dut!.!.!.

Wire music stands are generally cheaper, support less weight, have shorter lips (affects how much music you can have on the stand at a time)!. The advantage of these are they can fold up and be transported!. These are an OK idea for a starting musician, but I find they are not durable enough!. The one I owned had one of the legs mess up, and some of the bars on the head was bent!. Since then, I have purchased a solid metal stand and I am more than pleased!.

Solid stands are more durable, usually have better height, better legs, and are more durable, but cannot be transported easily!. The one I purchased had a list price of 60$, but I got it for 30$ online!. There are some cheaper ones also (like the link above)!. I can put all my music books and folder onto it, it goes high enough for me to read from it standing (im 5 11)!. I'd always have to look down with my old music stand!.

It really depends on who your buying for!. If you think they'd want a heavy duty, versatile stand, go with a solid stand!. They CAN still be transported, it is just more of a pain!. If you think they are going to be moving it around a lot or are just starting music, you may want to go with wire!.

Take a few looks at the results on this website!. These are almost the best prices you'll find, and if you select a fast shipping method, you might be able to get them before christmas!. If you enter SAVE15 at checkout under promotions you can get 15% off on most stands also from this website!. You could also go to a music store, but they might not have great selection and it might cost you more!.
